Foley’s Nielsen has state title in mind

July 19, 2020 | News | No Comments

If you look close, you can see a small scar on Carter Nielsen’s eyebrow.

The gash occurred during one of the many wrestling matches with his older brothers, Zach and Jeff, in their parents’ living room. It doubled as the brothers’ wrestling room growing up.

At some point during the scrum, 8-year-old Carter’s head met the corner of the coffee table. Continue reading at www.sctimes.com

Sky Sports recently interviewed WWE Superstar Samoa Joe about his upcoming WWE Title Match against WWE Champion AJ Styles at SummerSlam on August 19th. During the interview, Joe was asked if this was the biggest match of his career and although he doesn’t feel the pressure in being in such as high stakes match, he believes that this is the biggest match of his career.
“Sure, yes, of course, I’m fighting for the WWE championship at SummerSlam,” Joe said. “It’s a great opportunity for me. I’ve been in big matches before but it’s been with four other goons, but this is one-on-one and we’ll find out what’s what. … There’s no pressure whatsoever but only because I understand the capabilities of the people involved. I mean, I’m looking forward to it. I know potentially what could go down in that ring and it’s all about getting ready for game day now and making it happen.”
Two weeks ago at SmackDown Live, Samoa Joe jumped WWE Champion AJ Styles from behind and took him out, signaling that he was indeed the new number one contender. Last week on SmackDown Live, Joe cut a very personal promo about Styles not being home for his wife and kids. You can check out Joe attacking Styles from behind and Joe’s promo on Styles in the videos below:

This coming Tuesday on SmackDown Live, Styles will finally respond to his challenger. On Twitter, the champ said that he plans to make his “presence known,” and also noted that Orlando was where he made his WWE debut at The 2016 Royal Rumble PPV. You can check out Styles’ tweet below along with a video that shows his official WWE debut:

I’ve heard the words.
I know what he said.
And now I make my return to #SDLive THIS Tuesday in Orlando, FL.
I’ve made my presence known there before … this time won’t be any different. pic.twitter.com/zpLSS7Li5P

Monday Night Raw is shaping up to be a huge show as tonight’s installment of the show will feature a tag team championship match in addition to Renee Young calling the show for the first time ever. Several days later, a few more matches and segments have just been confirmed for the show tonight. WWE has just announced that there will be a non-title match between Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Natayla. Ronda Rousey in confirmed to be in Natalya’s corner for the match while Alicia Fox will stay in the corner of the champion during the match. With the title match between Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss, it definitely seems likely that the two of them may get into an altercation at some point during the match.
Another segment that is now confirmed for the show tonight is a contract signing. With SummerSlam less than one week away now, the time has come to sign off and finalize the matches for the show. The long feud between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins will continue as the two of them battle for Ziggler’s Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, but they will first be taking part in a contract signing segment for the match during Raw later on tonight. Drew McIntyre will also be by Dolph’s side during the segment, and although the Intercontinental Championship match is just a regular singles match right now, it is possible that this segment will lead to McIntyre joining the bout, thus turning it into a Triple Threat match.
Most of the top matches for tonight’s Raw show appear to be announced and locked in, but there has been little news about the matches and segments scheduled for Smackdown the following day. This week’s Smackdown will be the go-home show before SummerSlam, and it appears that Aiden English has challenged Andrade “Cien” Almas to a match. On behalf of “El Idolo,” Zelina Vega has accepted English’s challenge, so it appears that there will be a match between the two of them this Tuesday night. Also, a few tweets directed at Smackdown General Manager Paige from her former Absolution stablemates, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, may indicate some other possible matches that are planned for Smackdown this week.

I know it’s been a hard few weeks for #RusevDay but I swore to make it up to @RusevBUL & @LanaWWE – so ahead of their #SummerSlam match, I’m demanding here and now to face @AndradeCienWWE 1 on 1 this Tuesday on #SDLive – I’ll do whatever it takes. https://t.co/P881KA0koN
— Aiden English (@WWEDramaKing) August 11, 2018

You are NOBODY to be demanding ANYTHING from #elidolo .
But… beating some respect into you before our match at #SummerSlam sounds like a lovely idea.
My client.. ACCEPTS. https://t.co/veAxtxSvIQ
— Zelina Vega (@Zelina_VegaWWE) August 12, 2018

I find it pretty ridiculous that @RealPaigeWWE gives her former PCB teammates preferential treatment, but doesn’t extend the same courtesy to her former #Absolution teammates?! Hmm… ???? Come on GM you should know what’s best for business!??‍??????‍??
— Mandy (@WWE_MandyRose) August 11, 2018

Funny to me how @RealPaigeWWE is HANDING out opportunities like they’re nothin.. well to everyone but Mandy and I that is… haha but only when it’s convenient for her .. why don’t you feed us #Lasskicker #Queen or are u scared we’d make a joke outta ur top rising stars ?? #JOKE
— Sonya Deville (@SonyaDevilleWWE) August 10, 2018

Woah, thats some big words that you’re using baby girl. But Charlotte and Becky earned their opportunity.. don’t worry, you’ll get to earn yours and not forgetting you too @SonyaDevilleWWE on Tuesday. ?? https://t.co/hJmwmdjVYr

WWE RAW ratings grow slightly

July 19, 2020 | News | No Comments

The Monday, May 23rd edition of WWE Raw was up slightly this week to 3.26 million viewers, up three percent from last week.

This show came the day after the Extreme Rules PPV with the cliffhanger ending featuring the return of Seth Rollins.

Click Here: United Kingdom Rugby Shop

The number was hurt by the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors NBA playoff game that did 6.14 million viewers. For a comparison, Raw last week did 3.17 million viewers but the Golden State Warriors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA playoff game did 8.71 million viewers, which was much tougher competition.

The first hour was actually slightly down from last week, but the rating was up because the show didn’t have the big third hour drop of the week before.

The three hours were:

8 p.m.: 3.36 million viewers
9 p.m.: 3.33 million viewers
10 p.m.: 3.12 million viewers

Dancing with the Stars’ final Monday night show of the season featuring UFC’s Paige VanZant in the final three contestants did 12.34 million viewers. The show brought in 69% of its audience by women in the 18-49 demo.

The Friday replay of Monday Night RAW from May 16th did 467,000 viewers on SyFy with no promotion whatsoever. That show, and Wynona Earp (which site friend Lance Storm has a small role in) were the only two shows on that network to crack the top 150 cable programs for the night.

In one of the more irreverent parts of WWE’s programming to promote SummerSlam in Brooklyn on Sunday, Renee Young hosted a “SummerSlime” challenge between Jeff Hardy and Asuka to see who could create the messiest bowl of do-it-yourself slime.
Here’s a candid look at two of the most popular WWE stars having some fun outside the ring:
