Speculation is mounting that Hillary Clinton could launch a bid for the US presidency in 2020 after two former advisers in as many months floated the idea of a remarkable political comeback.

Mark Penn, who worked with the Clintons for 13 years, co-wrote a piece in the Wall Street Journal on Sunday headlined ‘Hillary will run again’ which predicted a new campaign.

He said Mrs Clinton would reinvent her public image once again, this time as a lifelong liberal, claiming she had learned the lessons of her painful 2016 defeat to Donald Trump.

“Expect Hillary 4.0 to come out swinging", wrote Mr Penn and Andrew Stein, a former Democrat politician, adding that she may leave it late to join the race.

“They [Democrats] will see her now as strong, partisan, Left-leaning and all-Democrat – the one with the guts, experience and steely-eyed determination to defeat Mr Trump."

The piece reignited debate about whether Mrs Clinton really is considering a comeback and if she would have any chance of defeating Mr Trump a second time round.

Mrs Clinton, aged 71, is younger than Mr Trump, 72, former vice president Joe Biden, 75, and former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, 77. Mr Biden and Mr Sanders are expected to run in 2020.

Mr Penn worked on Mrs Clinton’s Senate campaigns in 2002 and 2006 and her presidential campaign in 2008, but fell out of favour in Democrat circles during Barack Obama’s presidency.

He now regularly appears on Fox News and writes for The Hill, a US political newspaper with right-leaning editorial pages, which has raised suspicions about his motives – though he insists he remains a moderate Democrat.

Mr Penn is not alone, however. Philippe Reines, described as Mrs Clinton’s gatekeeper when she was in the US Senate and the State Department, recently played up the same idea.

“It’s curious why Hillary Clinton’s name isn’t in the mix – either conversationally or in formal polling – as a 2020 candidate,” Mr Reines was quoted as saying in a Politico article published last month.

“She’s younger than Donald Trump by a year. She’s younger than Joe Biden by four years. Is it that she’s run before? This would be Bernie Sanders’ second time, and Biden’s third time. Is it lack of support? She had 65 million people vote for her.”

Mr Reines added of the chance she could run in 2020: “It’s somewhere between highly unlikely and zero, but it’s not zero.”

Mrs Clinton sent mixed messages about a possible bid during a question and answer session last month. Asked if she wanted to run for the White House again, Mrs Clinton said “no”.

But when the questioner noted there was a pause, Mrs Clinton added: “Well, I’d like to be president”.  She added: “I think hopefully when we have a Democrat in the Oval Office in January of 2021 there’s going to be so much work to be done.”

With up to two dozen Democrats expected to throw their hats into the ring for the party’s 2020 presidential nomination, a bid from Mrs Clinton is widely considered as unlikely at this point.

She has fallen short in two presidential campaigns to date – losing out to Mr Obama for the Democrat nomination in 2008 and being defeated by Mr Trump in 2016.

Many of the weaknesses Mr Trump ruthlessly exploited, namely how many voters see Mrs Clinton as the embodiment of the Washington establishment they despise, remain in place.

Mr Trump’s supporters still chant “lock her up” at rallies, a reference to his suggestion that Mrs Clinton should be jailed over the scandal of a private email server she kept while in office.

Responding to Mr Penn’s comments that Ms Clinton would run in 2020, Kellyanne Conway, a White House adviser, tweeted:

A gauntlet qualifier for the final spot in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, an Intercontinental title defense, and the next step in the Nia Jax-Ronda Rousey storyline took place on the Memorial Day edition of Raw.

The last chance qualifier headlined the show, with Sasha Banks coming in last and submitting Ruby Riott. Bayley started the match off and eliminated Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, but she was attacked by the two Riott Squad members before Riott entered. Riott eliminated Bayley, Dana Brooke, and Mickie James until being tapped out by Banks.

Seth Rollins vs. Jinder Mahal ended in a disqualification as Rollins got retribution for Mahal using a chair behind the referee’s back. Rollins’ entrance had interrupted an attempted performance by Elias, and Elias laid him out with a guitar shot following the match.

Jax taunted Rousey by holding an exhibition where she dominated a supposed judo champion, then went face-to-face with Rousey and said she isn’t intimidated by her.

The build to the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match also continued, with another Braun Strowman vs. Finn Balor match and Kevin Owens vs. Bobby Roode.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s son was temporarily banned from Facebook after a series of anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian posts.

Yair Netanyahu, 27, said he had been suspended from the site for 24 hours after suggesting that all Muslims should get out of Israel.

“There will not be peace here until: 1. All the Jews leave the land of Israel. 2. All the Muslims leave the land of Israel. I prefer the second option,” he wrote.

He later added: “Do you know where there are no terror attacks? In Iceland and Japan. Coincidentally there’s also no Muslim population there.”

Both posts were removed by Facebook moderators last week. He later posted again calling on Israel to “avenge the deaths” of two Israeli soldiers who were killed in the occupied West Bank.

“There will never be peace with those monsters in the form of men that have called themselves ‘Palestinians’ since 1964,” he wrote.

That post was also deleted and a frustrated Mr Netanyahu then re-posted it with a comment lashing out at the “thought police of the radical progressives at Facebook”.

He complained that “Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian regime have official pages on Facebook” and yet their posts were not taken down.

Facebook prohibits re-posting of material that has already been removed and it appears that it was this violation that led to Mr Netanyahu’s account being suspended.

The prime minister’s son has a history of crude and provocative Facebook posts that his father is sometimes forced to disavow. He recently referred to the Israeli media and Left-wing politicians as “traitors”.

Last year, he posted a meme implying that George Soros, the Jewish financier, was secretly controlling the world. American Neo-Nazis noticed the post and praised Mr Netanyahu for its anti-Semitic content. He later deleted it.

Letters from Jerusalem RHS

As well as his political views, Mr Netanyahu playboy antics have also attracted attention in Israel.

One of his former drivers secretly recorded Mr Netanyahu and his friends as they drove around Tel Aviv going to strip clubs.

On the recording, Mr Netanyahu can be heard complaining that his friend, the son of an energy millionaire, would not lend him 400 shekels (£87).

He said that his own father, the prime minister, had helped his friend’s father win a major energy contract.

“You’re crying over 400 shekels. My father arranged 20 billion dollars for your father and you’re crying over 400 shekels for me,” he said.

When the recordings became public last year, the Netanyahus insisted that Yair’s comments were just drunken banter and not evidence of corruption.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says the team is seeking to understand Alex Albon’s struggles when running with high fuel loads, insisting his driver’s Styrian Grand Prix was “a race of two halves”.

Albon finished fourth in last Sunday’s second race at the Red Bull Ring, but at a fair distance from winner Lewis Hamilton and well adrift from Red Bull team mate Max Verstappen whose superior pace even allowed the Dutchman to undertake a second pitstop to try and secure an extra point for fastest lap.

According to Horner, Albon was essentially set back in the first part of the 71-lap event during which the British-Thai struggled with RB16’s heavy fuel load.

“Alex had a race of two halves,” explained the Red Bull boss.”I mean the first half he was struggling and then the second half, I thought he drove well and his pace was good.

“We need to understand that with him and hopefully help him get more comfortable with the car on the heavy fuel because his pace in the second half of the race was strong.

“He fought very well with Perez, who was the fastest car on the circuit – and at that stage three-four tenths quicker than Bottas, who had the freshest tyres.”

Red Bull details extent of damage to Verstappen’s RB16

Red Bull chief engineer Paul Monaghan noted a clear difference between Albon and Verstappen in how each driver adapts to their car’s fuel load.

“We do a pit stop and bolt new tyres on and he says the car balance is very, very nice,” he said, quoted by Motorsport.com. “The deterioration from that appears to be greater in its magnitude than it is for Max.

“Quite why we are not entirely sure yet. He suffered a little bit more and then, as you’ve probably seen on the telly, he picked up some front right blistering, and he was trying to protect that as well as be competitive and push as hard as he can.

“I think that whatever is causing it, we don’t really know. But the drop off is slightly greater for Alex by the looks of it.”

Gophers Host Iowa State For National Duals

July 14, 2020 | News | No Comments

After finishing up its conference season with a narrow loss to No. 12 Illinois on the final match of the dual last Friday in Champaign, No. 17 Minnesota (9-8, 5-4) will cap its 2015-16 regular season schedule by hosting No. 14 Iowa State (10-5, 2-2 in the Big 12) on Friday night as part of the NWCA Division I National Championship Duals Series.

Despite the loss last weekend, the Gophers have won four of their last six duals heading into this weekend, matching the team’s best six-dual stretch this season. A win on Friday would wrap up Minnesota’s home schedule with an 8-1 record, running its streak of losing one or fewer home duals in a season to five straight years. Friday will also mark the Gophers’ first match in Williams Arena since opening the season with a 3-0 sweep of the Gopher Duals in early November.

Just as it is for Minnesota, Friday night’s dual will mark the end of the regular season for Iowa State. The Cyclones have been streaky since the start of December, reeling off five straight wins into mid-January before dropping three straight at Arizona State, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State later in the month. Since that skid, ISU has won three in a row – knocking off Central Michigan, Northern Iowa, and West Virginia – and will put that streak on the line Friday night.

The Gophers and the Cyclones have only one common opponent this season – Iowa – which defeated both teams by an almost identical score (34-6 over Minnesota in Iowa City, 33-6 over Iowa State in Ames). Both programs also competed in the Cliff Keen Invitational, where the Gophers finished third (105 points) and the Cyclones finished 19th (46 points).

Friday will bring the 59th meeting in the series between the Gophers and the Cyclones. Though Iowa State holds a 36-20-2 all-time advantage, Minnesota has taken the last three head-to-head meetings, with ISU last defeating the Gophers back in the 2009-10 season.

These two programs last met when they closed the 2013-14 regular season against each other in Ames. After falling behind 6-0 following a pin at 125, the Gophers won four straight matches, and six of the next seven, to pull away from the Cyclones and win, 27-12.

Five wrestlers will return on Friday from that February 2014 meeting: Gophers Sam Brancale, Brandon Kingsley and Michael Kroells, and Cyclones Earl Hall and Tanner Weatherman. That quintet could produce a rematch from the last dual when Brancale and Hall met at 125 pounds. Hall pinned Brancale late in the third period of that bout. Both are up a weight from that previous meeting, now competing at 133 pounds.

Click Here: camisetas de futbol baratas

Two other potential matches on Friday’s card have a previous history. First, at 184 pounds, Chris Pfarr could have the opportunity to avenge a 5-3 overtime loss to Dane Pestano from this year’s Cliff Keen Invitational, then, at heavyweight, Michael Kroells will look to push his career record against Quean Smith to 2-0 when they meet for the first time since Kroells defeated Smith in a 3-1 decision at the 2014 Southern Scuffle.

The two teams will combine to send a half-dozen ranked wrestlers to the mat on Friday, including five ranked in the top 10 at their respective weights, though none of these wrestlers will compete head-to-head.

Fans can stream Friday night’s dual live on BTN Plus, starting at 7:30 p.m. Central. Mat-side updates also will be available throughout the dual by following Gopher Wrestling on Twitter.
