Seth Rollins, John Cena, Dean Ambrose & The Authority Kick Off RAW
This week’s show, which emanates from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, begins with highlights from last week, focusing primarily on Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.
From there, we shoot live inside the Barclays Center, where Rollins’ theme hits and he immediately storms his way out to the ring in the middle of an obvious temper tantrum. Rollins, clearly complaining, starts off by saying, “you think that’s funny, don’t you?!” The fans in Brooklyn chant “Yes! Yes! Yes!” From there, he says this is the real highlight from last week, which leads to a video being shown of Rollins hitting a Curb Stomp on John Cena onto his Money In The Bank briefcase.
As he continues to talk, out walks Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury to ringside. Off-mic, the two tell something to Rollins in the ring from the floor.
Rollins doesn’t take Noble and Mercury’s advice, so out runs John Cena, who attacks Rollins. Within seconds, however, Rollins slips out of the ring and into the crowd where out of nowhere, Ambrose appears behind him and attacks him in the crowd..
Rollins tries running back out of the crowd and back to ringside, but Cena is waiting for him there. As Cena and Rollins battle on the floor, Ambrose hits a big dive off the barricade, wiping both guys, as well as Noble and Mercury, out. Rollins runs to the backstage area.
Ambrose and Cena are left in the ring. Cena is inside the ring and Ambrose is casually sitting on the ring apron, when The Authority’s theme music hits.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon walk out and remain on the top of the ramp. Steph says they are not going to let this show turn into chaos. She says they had Noble and Mercury try to come out and warn him, but Rollins’ ego wouldn’t listen.
HHH says it’s clear Ambrose and Cena want the opportunity to get a piece of Seth Rollins. Steph asks the WWE Universe if they would like to see Ambrose and Cena get their hands on Rollins. The fans chant “Yes!” Triple H re-asks them. Agani they chant “Yes!”
He says if they want it, they’ll get it — right in that very ring tonight. He says tonight it will be Ambrose and Cena in that ring against Rollins. And his partner Kane. And their partner Kane, in a handicap match. HHH tells Ambrose and Cena to be careful what they wish for. With that said, The Authority leaves, as Cena and Ambrose look at each other.
Big Show And Rusev Update
Highlights are shown of Big Show apologizing from SmackDown for tearing down the Russian flag. From there, we see a graphic that says “Rusev and Lana Respond Tonight.” Apparently Big Show has been sentenced to “sensitivity training” so his match with Rusev that was scheduled for tonight is no longer happening.
Up Next On RAW …
After that, we see Dolph Ziggler and The Usos talking among each other backstage. As we head to our first commercial break of the evening, the announcers inform us that those three will be in action after the break against the trio of Cesaro, Goldust and Stardust. On that note, we head to commercial.
Cesaro, Goldust & Stardust vs. Dolph Ziggler & The Usos
When we return from commercial, The Dust Brothers are in the middle of their ring entrance. Out next, with his red towel over his head, is Cesaro. From there, the WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler comes out next. Finally, The Usos make their way to the ring and our first match of the evening is now getting underway.
The match begins with Goldust throwing Jimmy Uso shoulder first into the ring steps. Jimmy is hurt. Stardust starts in the ring with Jimmy, who is selling the injury. Jimmy punches away at Stardust, but Stardust knees him. There is a loud “We want Ziggler” chant as Stardust takes Jimmy down with a scoop slam and a stomp. Stardust with a chin lock as he tags in Goldust. Goldust with right hands, but Jimmy fights back.
Goldust takes control and tags in Cesaro. Cesaro hits a big uppercut and he throws Uso into the corner. He hits him with punches, but he misses wildly and Jimmy tags in Jey. Jey with punches and he takes down Cesaro with a cross body. Jey Uso with chops in the corner, but Cesaro with a knee and a big chop of his own. Jey reverses an irish whip into the corner and he hits shades of Rikishi. Cesaro with a knee into the corner and Stardust tags in. The good guys get involved and the action breaks into a brawl. Cesaro tosses Ziggler into the steel steps outside the ring as we head to a mid-match commercial.
When we return from commercial, Stardust is in control of one of the Usos. He tags in Cesaro, who picks up where he left off. Goldust tags in and now he takes over the offensive momentum for the heel team. Uso starts fighting back with punches as the fans are wild for him to tag in Ziggler, who they are chanting for. And he does.
The fans explode as Ziggler takes the hot tag and comes in the ring, flying all over the place, clearing house. When the smoke clears, Ziggler and Cesaro, who is now the legal man for his team, are all that’s left. Ziggler slaps a sleeper-hold on Cesaro. Cesaro slams Ziggler into the corner to break out of it, but misses a follow-up splash in the corner. Ziggler hits a FameAsser for a near fall, but the Dust Brothers break it up. This leads to The Usos hitting a dive on The Dust Brothers on the floor.
Cesaro tries taking advantage by cheap-shotting Ziggler from behind, but The Usos break up that pin attempt. Stardust tags himself in and hits his finisher on Ziggler. He covers him but Ziggler kicks out at two and a half. Ziggler tags Uso in and all three of the babyfaces hit a triple-super kick on Stardust. Uso goes to the top and hits a big splash for the 1-2-3. After the match, we head to commercial.
