One of the top stories of the weekend is that WrestleMania 31 will be coming to California’s Bay Area in 2015 at the brand new Levis Stadium.

NBCBayArea.com has confirmed the news and provided some new details on which city was the runner up to host the event. They also confirmed which city will host WrestleMania 32 in 2014.

Several top WWE Superstars, including John Cena, were at Candlestick Park today, ahead of the official announcement about WrestleMania 31, which will take place on Tuesday.

The article states that WWE officials visited 49ers headquarters in early August, where they were pitched by 49ers CEO Jed York and city leaders on the not-yet-finished $1.3 billion stadium. Several weeks later Santa Clara mayor Jamie Matthews and 49ers executives traveled to WWE headquarters in Connecticut to meet with chairman Vince McMahon.

Levi’s Stadium was chosen over Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.

The big news is that WrestleMania 32 in 2016 is “confirmed” to take place from Dallas, Texas at Cowboys Stadium.

Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) recently caught up with WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart (@BretHart). In the interview, Hart talks about traveling up the roads in treacherous weather conditions for his father Stu in Stampede wrestling, the coldest he’s ever felt, and Hart recalls a time wrestling outdoors in India vs the late Yokozuna that led to one of the grossest things he had ever seen in the ring during his career.

Dallas Mavericks NBA Star Dirk Nowitzki recently spoke to The Full Court Press about not appearing at Monday’s WWE RAW show in Dallas, Texas.

Nowitzki noted in the article that he used to be a big wrestling fan, but has since grown out of it. “I actually went to that a couple of years ago,” said the NBA star. “When I first got here when we were still at Reunion (Arena), it was fun. I was a huge Hulk Hogan fan and Ultimate Warrior and all that crap.”

Nowitzki concluded, “But that’s a long time ago, so I guess I grew out of that.”
