Here are some highlights of what Daniel Bryan said to Slam Wrestling during a recent interview:

His Cattle Mutilation Submission Hold:

“I didn’t really believe the Cattle Mutilation would get over with the WWE Universe, and the reason why is because it’s such a TV-oriented product. There are a lot of downfalls to it. (In the Cattle Mutilation) you can’t see the other guy’s face, and on top of that, it’s very difficult to do it to big guys; I don’t have long arms. For example Ezekiel Jackson — he’s an enormous guy — there’s no way I’d be able to hook my arms through his arms like that. It was more me — no one mentioned anything to me about it. I’ll occasionally throw the Cattle Mutilation out there in places where I think there’s more of the independent fanbase, just as a tribute to them because they’re the people who got me to where I am today.”

Who He Wants To Feud With:

“CM Punk moved over to the Raw brand, so I’m actually hoping that me and him get to feud a little bit. We got to wrestle in the independents and we had some really good matches and I think the WWE Universe would be really excited about it.”

“I’d love to wrestle Tyson Kidd. We tag teamed in New Japan Pro Wrestling back in 2003 and I think we even did a singles match in Budokan Hall in Japan.” ?

His 2003 Match Against John Cena On Velocity:

“It hasn’t been brought up between the two of us, I haven’t seen it in years. The match was almost scrapped. That was the night he was going to come out in an interview and do something with Brock Lesnar. He was doing this major, main event thing, so they (WWE’s bookers) were saying, ‘We don’t want him in this Velocity match with an independent guy.’ I thought it was a good match and it gets me excited because I know we both progressed in our careers and if we ever got to wrestle again it would be really good.”

– On Monday’s RAW, we saw the first face-to-face confrontation between CM Punk’s Nexus and Wade Barrett’s Corre group. Following Sunday’s Royal Rumble and Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, the planned card for WrestleMania 27 is starting to take shape. Here’s a look at what the card is looking like:

* WWE Champion The Miz defending vs. John Cena
* World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Edge
* The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett
* Randy Orton vs. CM Punk
* Nexus vs. The Corre in a 6-man tag match
* Triple H vs. Sheamus

Jerry Lawler is also scheduled to wrestle at WrestleMania, likely as a culmination of his feud with Michael Cole. Alex Riley has been discussed as a possible opponent for The King.

In the case of Taker vs. Barrett, if Taker can’t work a singles match there is a backup plan of Kane and Taker vs. the four members of The Corre. No word where this would leave Nexus but it might not happen as Taker is telling everyone he will be ready to go.

As far as celebrities for the big show, WWE is still trying to get Justin Beiber involved, which explains Alberto Del Rio’s reference to him on RAW.

Amongst TNA Wrestling officials, there has been talk of changing the focus from “big name” veteran stars of yesteryear to the younger performers in the organization.

One source stated that the members of Fortune—AJ Styles, James Storm, Robert Roode and Kazarian—would be among the top babyfaces in the company and that “it would be interesting to see” what happens when the contracts of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair come due. However, the source added that while creative is behind the proposition, plans could easily change.

The source feels that Impact‘s ratings in the coming weeks will be the deciding factor in whether the company begins focusing on younger talents.

“The key is the ratings,” the source stated. “[Dixie Carter] panics when the ratings dip. If it moves two points, she’ll panic.”

The source explained that if Impact‘s ratings fall one point as they did last week (from a 1.3 to a 1.2), the company’s creative direction stays course. However, the feeling is that Carter tends to overreact when the ratings slide down two points.

WWE has released the following backstage videos featuring the Class of 2011 members talking about joining wrestling’s most prestigious Hall of Fame.

On a side note, I was at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and have posted a batch of 25 exclusive photos from the event – including a surprise reunion from the Kliq, which you can view here.

Here are WWE’s backstage videos:

Valtteri Bottas says he’ll never resort to playing mind games with Lewis Hamilton, insisting that such a tactic against his Mercedes teammate would only result in a waste of energy.

Bottas has finished runner-up to Hamilton in world championship in the past two seasons, and while the Finn has regularly given his teammate a run for his money, he has never succeeded in sustainably gaining an edge.

Since Mercedes kicked off its hegemonic domination of F1 in 2014, only Nico Rosberg has beaten Hamilton to the title, a feat achieved in 2016.

The German often alludes to his efforts to out-psych the Briton off the racetrack just enough to throw him off his game on occasion, a ploy that Rosberg believes paid dividends on occasion.

It’s been suggested that Bottas should attempt to do the same, but the nine-time Grand Prix winner believes there would be little to gain from resorting to such a stratagem. Indeed, it could even back fire.

“Along the way, there’s been many people suggest I change to be a Nico Rosberg,” Bottas told Autosport.

But I’m not a Nico Rosberg. I much prefer to do the talking on track and race fair. I have also been able to get to know Lewis, and I know that there’s no benefit of trying to play with his mind.

“I’m sure it would be annoying for him, but it would be wasting my energy. And I think he will be getting even more pissed off and drive faster.

“So I think the way I’m doing things, that’s how I want to win. That is my aim.”

Bottas believes a fully transparent attitude on both sides of the garage, free of any conflicts or intrigue, remains the best approach, both for the team and its drivers.

“I think that the strength we have in the team is definitely that we can work as a team,” he said. “We can for sure race hard, but we can also leave it there.

“And we know the fact that if we can work together, that’s how the team is going to benefit in the end.

“So there’s not going to be any hiding of setups or data or anything. And the team spirit in team sports is underestimated.

“I think it’s really important that you keep the motivation up, and no conflicts.”
