Kevin Owens lives to fight another day.

The Canadian star put his career on the line this Sunday night at WWE SummerSlam in his hometown of Toronto, in order to finally get his hands on Shane McMahon in a one-on-one match.

It took approximately zero seconds for McMahon to begin throwing his power and weight around, as he immediately named one of his lackeys, Drew McIntyre, as the special guest enforcer for the match. The Scottish Psychopath interfered numerous times, but Owens was eventually able to put both away and score the victory, catching his nemesis with a kick to the nuts and stone cold Stunner.

Chris Jericho has taken a second out of his busy schedule of trying to take credit for all of AEW’s successes, in order to take credit for the biggest announcement in WWE NXT history.

As noted, the NXT brand will be moving to a new two-hour format, live every Wednesday night on the USA Network at 8PM ET. The show will run head-to-head against All Elite Wrestling on TNT.

Jericho tweeted out the hashtags “YoureWelcome” and “IndustryChanger” on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after WWE made their announcement. NXT General Manager William Regal, a legend of the business and someone very familiar with Y2J both in and out of the ring, was quick to respond in defense of his brand.

“Yes, thank Chris,” Regal tweeted, presumably with some sarcasm. “From us both being on NXT in 2010 until today, being a mentor, announcer and GM, NXT has given huge opportunities for many talent who would never of got a chance before, to be real game changers. And it’s all down to you. Thank you so much”.

To be fair, Jericho was actually on NXT in 2010, back when the brand was a critically panned reality series. He was the Pro of then-Rookie Wade Barrett, who would of course go on to win the entire competition before leading the Nexus to WWE television.

Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto says his team aims to sustain its improving trend but snatching third in the Constructors’ championship from McLaren is now also the Scuderia’s ambition.

After a dismal 2020 campaign, one of its worst in its history, Ferrari has made great strides this season and its turn around has allowed it to become a regular top five contender on race day along with McLaren.

At Silverstone, the Italian outfit enjoyed its third consecutive double points finish, with Charles Leclerc leading the British Grand Prix all afternoon, succumbing to a successful attack from Lewis Hamilton just three laps from the checkered flag.

The House of Maranello is focused in priority on the development of next year’s all-important car, but Binotto says Ferrari – which now sits 15 points behind McLaren in the Constrictors’ standings – can still afford to aim for a spot on the podium this year.

“It’s clear that – I said it even before the season – this team can take the third place,” he told Sky Italia. “They always did that in previous years, except for 2020. They also often finished second.

“So it’s our ambition. There’s no doubt we absolutely want to finish third, but our goal even before finishing third is to improve in every aspect, as a team.

“We are doing that, we saw that in the race pace, and I think third position is just a foregone conclusion of our hard work.”

While highlighting his team’s performance at Silverstone, Binotto also puts Ferrari’s achievement into perspective relative to Mercedes.

“I don’t think [we were] equal because Hamilton, looking at the data, was saving the tyres in that moment,” he said. “He was also perhaps managing the risk of a blister on that type of compound.

“It’s true [we finished] ahead of Bottas. But I think as we saw in Austria with Norris on Bottas, starting ahead and having the pace is fundamental.

“So [it shows] the importance of qualifying and the position on the grid to find yourself ahead and not stuck.”

The Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA is currently advertising Bray Wyatt’s demonic alter ego “The Fiend” for a Universal Championship Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins.

The arena will play host to the 2019 WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on Sunday, October 6, and had been previously advertising Drew McIntyre as the opponent for Rollins’ title. Take this with a grain of salt though, as local advertising doesn’t always end up being what WWE puts on the screen at the end of the day.

The Fiend last emerged two weeks ago, attacking and knocking out WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, but has otherwise remained silent since defeating Finn Balor at SummerSlam.

Of course, all that remains to be seen as the “Kingslayer” Seth Rollins still has to get through Braun Strowman on September 15 at WWE Clash of Champions.

Correction: We had incorrectly reported that the Golden 1 Center was in Atlanta, GA instead of Sacramento, CA. That correction has now been made. Our apologies for the confusion.

WWE Monday Night Raw returns to the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland this evening on the road to Clash of Champions. So far it looks like a pretty stacked and exciting show, with two King of the Ring quarterfinal matches on deck, the return of Rey Mysterio and more, so make sure to join us for live coverage here – RIGHT HERE – on ProWrestling.com starting promptly at 8/7c.

Here are the points WWE is hitting on for tonight’s show:

– Ricochet faces Samoa Joe in the first of two King of the Ring quarterfinals matches. Last week the high-flying sensation scored the upset of his life defeating the “Scottish Psychopath” Drew McIntyre, clean in the middle of the ring. Can Ricochet’s run continue, or will Joe choke him out just like everyone else who gets in his way?

– In the second King of the Ring match of the evening, Cedric Alexander battles Baron Corbin, who seems to be refocussed and somehow even more obnoxious since returning to Raw, following a brief absence after losing in the main event of Extreme Rules earlier this summer. Cedric suffered a nasty beating last week, and may not be 100% come belltime, so this should be an interesting matchup.

– She’s attacked Natalya multiple times. She’s outright challenged The Man. What’s next for Sasha Banks as “The Boss” looks to continue stealing shows and generating a buzz coming off her long-awaited return to WWE?

– Rey Mysterio will return to Monday Night Raw for the first time since nearly ending his career (two weeks ago). His son Dominik was able to keep the lucha legend under his iconic mask, at least for now, but what will the future Hall of Famers path forward look like heading into what could possibly be his final run in WWE?

– Things are likely going to get real awkward for Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, real soon. Not only will the two defend their Raw Tag Team Championships at Clash of Champions, against the newly formed team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, but Rollins will also have to defend the Universal Championship against Strowman later that very same night. How will the unlikely and uneasy allies get along tonight on Raw?

WWE has officially cancelled tonight’s Raw-brand live event at the McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga, TN. The good news is that it had nothing to do with low ticket sales, as has been the reason behind numerous cancelled live events in recent months.

The bad news is, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga had a water main break that has left the Arena unusable for the evening. The show has instead been rescheduled to Sunday, January 19 just one week before the Royal Rumble.

UPDATE: Due to a water main break that has resulted in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga being without water service, WWE has RESCHEDULED tonight’s live event at the Mackenzie Arena at UTC to Sunday, January 19, 2020..

In the main event of Friday Night SmackDown tonight, WWE crowned a brand new WWE Champion as Brock Lesnar squashed Kofi Kingston.

It is a new day, yes it is, as far as the WWE Championship is concerned, with the title back around the waist of the Beast following an emphatic and dominant victory over Kofi Kingston.

The two men collided in the first-ever main event of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX, but it wasn’t much of a competitive match as Lesnar hit one F5 in less than 30 seconds to become champion.

Kingston came out of the gate, running straight at the Beast who quickly popped him on his shoulders, and delivered the F5 in order to become champion.

WHAT?!?!?! In SECONDS!

We’ve got a new champion! #SmackDown @BrockLesnar pic.twitter.com/o3nAcqQ3xL
