Bruce Prichard Talks About Organizing Sable’s Playboy Cover Shoot, Reveals They Actually Shot Two Covers

During the latest episode of the Something To Wrestle With podcast, Bruce Prichard went into detail discussing Sable’s infamous Playboy photo shoot.

How the deal happened:

“We were hot at the time and the product itself was hot and Rena was — good god, Sable that character [was]one of the most downloaded females in the world,” Bruce Prichard said. “Playboy as they often or at least did back in the day would often reach out to celebrities or other people who would appeal to their audience and make that offer, ‘would you pose nude for Playboy?’ They approached WWE about Sable and asked. There was even talk of doing the women of WWF and all that other stuff but Playboy had approached us.”

How Sable got the gig:

“I don’t know all the particulars about this but usually they approach the company and since we have the talent contract we’re the ones that broker the deal and yeah the company gets a portion of that money because they’re under contract to the company. So I’m sure Vince looking at it and saying, ‘which of the females?’ Then approached her and asked if she would even be in interested in it if it’s something she’d consider doing and she interested in doing it so they went further on with the deal until finally it was actually done and everybody agreed on it.”

Playboy taking two cover shots:

“I think it was Playboy’s choice looking at the two pictures and deciding which one was gonna sell more magazines,” Prichard said. “Not just appealing to the wrestling fan with the belt and what have you. I don’t know what the hell their thinking was behind it but I thought the cover they picked was a pretty good one.”

Tessa Blanchard Reveals Her Favorite Wrestlers, Overcoming Obstacles And Her Current Goals

IMPACT Wrestling star, Tessa Blanchard has recently spoken with Icon Versus Icon regarding her career and what goals she currently has, below are some highlights.

On her favorite wrestlers:

“My favorite wrestler of all-time is Johnny Valentine. I believe him to be the best bad guy ever in wrestling and he is my absolute favorite. Actually, recently I had a conversation with Greg Valentine about this at WrestleCon Mania Weekend in New Orleans. Female-wise, one person that I really, really, really would like to share the ring with is Gail Kim. I say that because I believe her to be one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world!”

“I run into obstacles every day. Having the last name that I do is both a blessing and a curse because I always feel the pressure on my shoulders to live up to that. At the same time, I’m taking my own path and making my own way in this business. Impact has given me the platform to do that. I had such a great time working with them. Honestly, what I think keeps me so driven is my purpose. I know exactly what my purpose is, and I know where I want to see myself in five years. I know what my goals are, and I always keep that in the forefront of my mind. I’ve enjoyed my time with Impact and I’ve appreciated them giving the platform to showcase where I want to end up in the next five years. One thing I say is ‘You don’t have to get ready if you stay ready.’ … That’s one thing that I do — I stay ready! I’m in the gym twice a day, seven days a week, I’m dieting all the time and keeping both my body and my mind right. Every time I step into the ring there is a different obstacle but I’m very confident in myself and my ability. I’m very excited for the future.”

Her current goals:

“My main goal at Impact is to be the Knockout Division Champion. I’m going to have my opportunity to claim that on Sunday against Allie and Su Yung. That is the goal because having that championship means that you’re the best. I’m confident that I am ‘The Uncrowned Champion’ because I am the best women’s wrestler in Impact Wrestling! … I want to do everything possible in wrestling. I want to go absolutely everywhere I can, wrestle everyone that I can and accomplish everything that I can. In my journey, I feel this is just one stop on the road!”

Johnny Gargano Returns to Action on This Week’s NXT TV; Claims ‘Johnny Wrestling is Gone’ (Video)

After suffering a brutal, heart-wrenching loss at the hands of his bitter rival Tommaso Ciampa at NXT Takeover: Chicago, the usually upbeat Johnny Gargano returned to action this week on WWE NXT television showing off a whole new attitude.

After defeating EC3 in the show’s main event with a very familiar looking unprotected knee strike to the face, Gargano was interviewed outside the arena and claimed that he woke up after Takeover a brand new man, and that “Johnny Wrestling” was gone – possibly for good. Check out the video below. You can also check out highlights from his return match against EC3 in the player above.

As noted, following his victory Ciampa is now next in line for a shot at the NXT Championship, currently held by the equally methodical and terrifying Aleister Black. The two will collide in three week’s time on the July 25th edition of WWE NXT television.

Breaking: Impact Wrestling Spoils Major Title Change from Sunday’s TV Tapings SPOILERS

At Sunday night’s Impact Wrestling television taping event in Toronto, Ontario the third generation star Tessa Blanchard scored a huge victory over Su Yung and Allie to become the new Knockouts Champion.

We had already reported on the title change in our spoiler-filled post late last night, but now Impact itself has actually spoiled the results of their own television tapings, despite the fact that the match won’t take place for several weeks. The decision to reveal major spoilers this early may have something to do with TMZ posting footage of Blanchard calling her parents to tell them the good news, which you can check out at this link.

Manon Marsault et Julien Tanti (Marseillais) : Ce qui se passe en off pour Tiago

Julien Tanti participe depuis 2012 aux Marseillais. Son côté drôle et festif a rapidement séduit la production et les téléspectateurs. Et le jeune homme de 30 ans ne se lasse pas de partir à l’aventure à l’étranger avec ses amis Paga ou Kevin Guedj. Bien qu’il soit devenu papa d’un petit Tiago le 24 mai 2018, il s’est donc organisé avec sa future épouse Manon Marsault, qui fait partie de la famille des Marseillais depuis qu’elle est en couple avec lui, pour continuer à partir en tournage.

Le 18 février 2019, les téléspectateurs de W9 ont donc retrouvé Julien Tanti dans Les Marseillais Asian Tour. Et, à l’occasion d’une interview pour Purepeople, le couple a expliqué comment il s’était organisé pour Tiago sur le tournage. “On avait un appartement juste à côté, à 30 secondes de la villa. Les nuits, je rentrais dormir avec lui, Julien une nuit sur deux environ. Je le voyais tout le temps“, a déclaré la belle brune de 29 ans.

Les tourtereaux se sont aussi confiés sur leur mariage qui promet d’être “hors du commun” et qui s’étalera sur trois jours. Julien Tanti en a profité pour admettre qu’il était moins impliqué que sa fiancée dans les préparatifs : “Je suis plus un garçon qui s’investit au dernier moment. Elle fait le gros et moi je finis.” Très vite, Manon l’a stoppé en expliquant qu’il ne changerait rien au dernier moment. Elle a aussi dévoilé que leur fils leur apporterait les alliances s’il savait déjà marcher.

Pour rappel, cette nouvelle saison des Marseillais en Asie sera notamment marquée par les préparatifs du mariage de Manon Marsault et Julien Tanti.

Alfa still convinced early switch to 2022 car ‘the right decision’

Alfa Romeo team boss Frederic Vasseur remains convinced that switching the team’s resources to its 2022 car back in January was the right decision.

The Hinwil-based squad is enduring a difficult 2021 campaign, having scored just three points in the first half of the season.

A freeze on the development of the team’s C41 leaves little hope of a significant improvement of Alfa’s performance.

Vasseur accepts the Swiss outfit’s current deadlock, believing that Alfa’s step back this season will lead to two steps forward in 2022.

“I would love for the team to score more points,” the Frenchman told Motorsport.com.

“We’ve made some big efforts inside the team, but the main reason that we are losing a little bit in performance from the beginning of the season is because we decided to switch, from January, to 100 percent on 2022.

“When I see the updates from the other teams, even if they all say that they switched to the 2022 car, they have updates every single weekend!

“But when we took the decision I knew that if you switch 100 percent to the next year’s car, then you won’t develop the 2021 car. And that’s the case.

“But I think it was the right decision for us, because where we were last year, if we keep the same car and continued to invest and develop it, I’m not sure that it makes complete sense in terms of championship position.

“If you have a look at the gap to Toro Rosso [AlphaTauri] or Renault [Alpine], the gap is huge, but I’m really convinced that it was the right decision.

“We knew that there was an upside and a downside, but now you have to deal with the downside.”

After last month’s British Grand Prix, Kimi Raikkonen urged his team to “wake up and do something” to improve the pace of its C41.

While big gains will be hard to come by because of the car’s status quo, Vasseur believes there is scope for improvement, on both the team’s side and from its drivers.

“We won’t go back into the windtunnel for sure, and the engine is frozen,” he explained. “But as a team we have plenty of room for improvement.

“If you have a look at the comparison of our drivers, one is more performing in qualifying, the other one in the race. And we have to get the best from both of them.

“With track operations, I’m sure we have room for improvement, just like in terms of tyre management, set up of the car and on every single topic that you have to deal on track.

“This is important for me, because all the improvement that we will do as a team on this side, it’s also probably what you can carry over for next year.

“We have room for improvement and we are not speaking about seconds. Very often between P8, P9 and P14 you have just a couple of tenths.

“I want to keep everybody under pressure and continue to push in the same direction.”
