On returning to a WWE ring, The Rock had the following to say:

“I can’t wait to get back into a WWE ring, because everybody always asks me, ‘what’s it like being in a WWE ring, and I always tell them…there’s nothing like it. There’s nothing like inside of a WWE ring because there is a certain live crowd acumen, there’s great connective tissue that is second to none.”

Cody Rhodes recently hosted a fan Q&A via his Twitter account where he answered a range of questions from his fans, including what his favorite match is.

Cody was asked what wrestling match he considers to be the greatest of all time and his answer was The Rock vs Hulk Hogan, adding that he doesn’t trust anybody who thinks otherwise. Hogan responded to Cody’s tweet, thanking him for his thoughts but added his own favorite ever match, which was Dusty Rhodes against The Great Malenko.

Hogan vs Rock

I don’t trust anybody who says otherwise. (Also, I answer this every time we do one of these ha) https://t.co/BdPoYVRrcJ

Yo @CodyRhodes thanks for the love but the greatest match I ever saw was when I was 17yrs old. The Great Malenko vs Dusty! They were bleeding like pigs and Dusty took out Malenkos teeth. Then he stomped on them in the middle of the ring and fought https://t.co/7FhEj5WNPo

Cody Confirms Enzo Is Not ALL IN

Cody Rhodes was asked when he would be announcing Enzo Amore for the ALL IN event, but Cody categorically made his point that Enzo is not booked and will never be getting announced.

He’s not part of the show. 100%

Cody Takes Shot At Zack Ryder

Another of the questions Cody was asked was how he feels about Toys ‘R’ Us closing down and the ROH star made it clear he doesn’t care about it. Cody stated that he doesn’t give a sh*t about Geoffrey since he was a child and was told he was too old for action figures.

He went on to take a shot at Zack Ryder, saying that people like him who cry over the store closing could have avoided it by not ordering collectibles online.

I stopped giving a sh&! about Geoffrey when I was 12 and my dad told me I was too old to play w/action figures.

All these Ryder’ types crying over the store could have avoided this all had they not started ordering their “collectibles” online. https://t.co/gPEjGpzNyh

According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed to trademark the classic WCW PPV name “Starrcade”. The Starrcade event was always considered to be WCW’s marquee event of the year, akin to WWE’s WrestleMania, and got its start in Jim Crockett Promotions back in 1983.

WWE last used the Starrcade event for a live event back in December 2017 in Greensboro, NC, where the PPV got its start. The report furthers the timing of WWE’s trademark filing is interesting given the rumors surrounding a possible Women’s PPV taking place in WWE sometime this year.

SummerSlam ’88 in 60 Seconds

With Extreme Rules finally in the rearview mirror and SummerSlam now in plain sight, WWE takes a look back on the very first SummerSlam pay-per-view with this 60 second video below.

The 1988 event was headlined by an all-star tag team match, as the Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage) took on the Mega Bucks (Nick and Matt’s dads) with the ever controversial Jesse Ventura standing in as special guest referee. This show is perhaps most famously known for Ultimate Warrior defeated the Honky Tonk Man to end the dastardly villain’s record reign as Intercontinental Champion.

After WWE Raw went off the air on Monday night, Kevin Owens and Jinder Mahal came out. The two stars criticized the crowd in Cincinnati for cheering a “mean” guy like Braun Strowman, and then Mahal lead them both in a breathing exercise. This prompted Strowman to hit the ring and lay waste to both Owens and Mahal to end the show.

As noted, Kevin Owens demanded a rematch against Braun Strowman at WWE SummerSlam and it was granted on Raw this week. A stipulation was added which will see Owens win Strowman’s Money in the Bank briefcase if he is able to beat The Monster Among Men at the PPV.

WWE.com has issued the following announcement regarding season eight of “Total Divas”, premiering on September 16th:

E! and WWE’s Total Divas returns for its eighth season beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 9/8 C. Brie & Nikki Bella, Naomi, Lana, Natalya, Nia Jax and Paige will be part of a season that promises career highs and personal lows, buoyed by life-long friendships that help them weather the storm. Check out a sneak peek at the new season.

She’s baaack! The one and only Paige returns to Season 8. After a career-threatening injury, Paige is figuring out the next step in her career, but in the meantime, WWE may have something in store for her. On a personal front, Paige looks to The Bella Twins to help her move beyond her past mistakes and build back her confidence.

The season kicks off with the girls getting ready for WrestleMania Week in New Orleans. All eyes are on Nia as she continues to impress in the ring. With her much-anticipated Raw Women’s Championship Match forthcoming, Nia tries to up her game and enlists the help of a veteran Superstar to pick up some new moves.

With Nikki’s personal life front and center, she is learning to deal with a new kind of spotlight. Hoping to set the record straight between gossip column fodder and what she knows as the truth, Nikki holds her head high and puts her best foot forward at a time when changes are happening in her personal life. Having the girls around her for support encourages Nikki to challenge herself and inspires the crew to dig deep and face their emotional fears on what is supposed to be a fun girls’ trip to Lake Tahoe. Nikki also serves as a Co-Executive Producer of Total Divas Season 8.

Now that Brie’s husband Daniel Bryan is making a comeback, she wants to prove she’s not going to slow down. In addition to returning to the ring and being a full-time mom, Brie informs her sister, Nikki, that she wants to be president of their company, Birdiebee. While being a mom and juggling a flourishing business with her twin has been great, Brie feels like she may be missing out on bonding with the ladies.

Natalya begins to explore what her back-up plan would be after watching Paige re-evaluate her career. As she looks to her future, Natalya is also facing her family’s history of Alzheimer’s disease and is presented with an opportunity to get tested for the gene.

Naomi has long wanted to move out of Pensacola, Fla., and while on a girls’ trip to Atlanta, explores the idea of buying property with or without her husband, Jimmy Uso. When a symbol of their love and devotion goes missing, Naomi’s carelessness causes a rift between them that money can’t buy.

Lana’s husband, Rusev, has baby fever and hopes that Lana can take a cue from Brie and Bryan so they can start a family of their own. Meanwhile, Lana continues to push herself physically and mentally in the ring. And, after a lifetime of constant forgetfulness, Lana is finally ready to confront the issue head on.

Tune in to the Total Divas Season 8 premiere on E! Sept. 19 at 9/8 C.
