Prior to WWE SummerSlam this past Sunday night, Paul Heyman appeared on WFAN radio’s Benigno & Roberts show, and during the appearance, Heyman discussed the title reigns of both his famous WWE “clients”, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk.

When asked which of the two stars had a better title run in WWE, Heyman confidently answered “Lesnar”, and went on the explain the following about The Beast’s run vs the historic run previously had by CM Punk.

“What was the stock when CM Punk was the champion? What’s the stock now?”, questioned Heyman, h/t to CagesideSeats.com for the transcription.

“I have news for everybody. I know this will come as a shock. I know this is the type of news… fans hate to hear. Ready? It’s a business. It’s a business. So the stock, when CM Punk was champion was, what? 19? 20? 21? The stock is now at 80! $80 per share.

“Who was the main event of WrestleMania? Who is the main event of SummerSlam? Who’s the most featured performer? Who’s on all the billboards? Who’s on all the posters? Who right now has an advocate speaking for him on WFAN? Brock Lesnar. Stock’s at 80. Obviously, something is being done that is correct.”

Heyman was asked if he still texts with CM Punk, and the possibility of Punk ever returning to wrestling, and Heyman noted he does not communicate with the former WWE star.

“I don’t text him at all,” admitted Heyman. “And in this business, I’ve learned never to presume that someone’s not coming back, but if anybody’s not coming back, he’s the exception that defines the rule.”

Aiden English Assists Rusev Day at Live Event

WWE has released the following video featuring Aiden English assisting Rusev Day during the WWE live event in Saint John over the weekend. For the past several weeks, WWE has been teasing Rusev Day is not on the same page, however Rusev and English “hugged it out” on Smackdown last week, seeming to indicate they are all back on the same page:

The following was taped last week at Full Sail University for this week’s episode of WWE NXT airing on WWE Network.

— Johnny Gargano came out on a crutch and thanked the fans for always having his back. He apologized for letting them down and breaking his promise to get rid of Tommaso Ciampa once and for all. Johnny said he wasn’t sure where to go from here, as he’s lost himself somewhere along the journey and is afraid that he is becoming the thing he hates the most: Ciampa.

— NXT GM William Regal came out and asked Gargano to his face if he was responsible for taking out Aleister Black. Before he could answer, Velveteen Dream came out and said he was sick of people takling about the Gargano/Ciampa rivalry, and he was sick of hearing about Aleister Black. From here on out it’s all about The Dream. Regal books a match between the two for “next week”.

— Dakota Kai def. Aliyah

— Lars Sullivan attacked EC3 backstage and threatened to rip anybody who talks about him limb from limb. He then went out to the ring and destroyed Raul Mendoza.

— Keith Lee def. Luke Menzies

— Adam Cole & Roderick Strong def. Ricochet & Pete Dunne. This was supposed to be Strong and O’Reilly, but they did a last minute switch-a-roo to blindside the UK and NA champions. Undisputed Era beatdown after the match until War Raiders came out to chase them off.

Ring Of Honor star, Flip Gordon recently spoke with James Walsh of the Interactive Wrestling Radio about several topics including his feud with Bully Ray and more.

On his feud with Bully Ray:

“It is really cool getting to work with him because he’s a Hall of Famer, he’s been around a really long time, and he knows a lot of stuff! To be able to work with him is a huge honor and I’ve learned so much very quickly. It is different than anything I’ve ever done before! But, I feel like there is a lot of realism to it which is what allows the fans to react, get attached, and actually care about what me and him are doing. Everybody, well I don’t know if everybody’s been bullied but everybody can relate to that. It is story telling! It is what I really want to learn. It is what this business is built on is story telling and not just the wrestling. I’m really excited to do this with him and see where it goes!”

The Book Flip Movement:

“It has been crazy because everywhere I go now, I hear the chants “BOOK FLIP!” It is at shows I’m not even on! I was in Japan for Best of Super Juniors and ROH was on their United tour and the fans were chanting “BOOK FLIP” at Cody every time he was on TV! It is really cool to see. You look on TV, you see Book Flip shirts everywhere! It has been really cool. It has been really special. But, it hasn’t gotten me booked yet! I’m still not All In. I’m not on the biggest independent wrestling event of all time. So, it has been frustrating but the Book Flip movement has been really cool. But, I feel it has to pay off. I still have to get booked! But, I’m still going to be in Chicago. I’m having an “All Out” pre-show party. It sold out, a little under 2 hours, 2,000 tickets! I’m still going to try my best to get booked. I think it would mean a lot for Ring of Honor to have another one of their superstars on the show!”

On ROH selling out Madison Square Gardens:

Click Here: all stars nrl rugby jersey

“It is just insane! Not just from a wrestling standpoint but from an entertainer’s standpoint! Anybody from basketball to comedy to music to wrestling to theater, they want to perform in Madison Square Garden! That is the World’s Most Famous Arena! Like you said, it is the Mecca! That is a dream of mine coming true. I can’t wait! I wish it was April already! (laughs) For Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling to put on a co-show, the G1 Supercard, and to sell it out that quick is a testament to how popular wrestling is right now and how much of a variety there is. Wrestling fans want something different. You can have a WWE show across town and have a non-WWE show sell out in the same city! There’s such a variety and it is cool to see how much wrestling is thriving right now!”

His future ROH goals:

“Well, I want to get this thing with Bully Ray squashed… Get that out of the way. And then, you know, I’ve been with Ring of Honor for over a year now… I have just re-signed… Maybe it is time for a TV title run?”

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this past Saturday night’s “ALL IN” event looks to have done about 20,000 internet buys. This includes buys from internet services such as FITE TV, and does not include traditional cable television PPV buys. It’s worth noting “ALL IN” was not available via DirecTV, which will hurt the overall PPV buyrate number.
