Conor McGregor to Appear at UFC 229 Press Conference, New Training Footage Released, UFC Fighter Suing McGregor

According to BJPenn.com, the first press conference for UFC 229, which will see the return of Conor McGregor in a bout against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, will take place on September 20, at 5p.m. ET inside Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Both McGregor and Nurmagomedov will be attending the press conference.

UFC Fighter Suing McGregor

In related news, MMAJunkie.com reports UFC lightweight Michael Chiesa has filed a lawsuit against Conor McGregor, stemming from McGregor attacking a bus carrying UFC 223 fighters in Brooklyn back in April of this year. Following the attack, Chiesa appeared to be cut by flying glass and he was subsequently pulled from a fight against Anthony Pettis on the April 7 card.

Chiesa’s lawsuit against McGregor alleges the former two-division champion and several unnamed persons attacked him, causing “serious personal, economic, and other injury.”

Chiesa, via his attorney Joseph W. Murray, levies a half-dozen claims against McGregor and co-defendants Barclays Center, parent company BSE Global, and the unnamed persons: negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent hiring, retention and supervision, and respondeat superior.

Aiden English is Ready For The New Day (Photos), Hurricane Helms Makes His Pick for Tonight’s Big Boxing Main Event

Aiden English and Rusev, now collectively known as Rusev Day along with Lana, will take on The New Day for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship this Sunday at Hell in a Cell. Rusev Day earned their title shot following a small-tournament, defeating The Bar in the finals. This will be the teams first shot at the titles. Aiden English posted a series of photos of himself and Rusev getting the better of The New Day.

The two teams will face off for the titles on the Hell in a Cell kickoff show.

WWE Releases Former Impact Wrestling Star

Shera, real name, Amanpreet Singh Randhawa, had been working at the WWE Performance Center since February of 2018, and is best known for his time in Impact Wrestling and Ring Ka King.

Breaking News: WWE Announces Injury to Sasha Banks, Bobby Lashley Gets New WWE MMC Partner

WWE has announced that Sasha Banks has suffered an injury and will be replaced in the Mixed Match Challenge by Mickie James.

In the video below, Cathy Kelley announces the injury to Banks and notes James will now team up with Bobby Lashley in the MMC, but Kelley did not elaborate on when Banks sustained the injury or the nature of the injury:

Former Knockouts Champ Chelsea Green Makes NXT Debut; Boyfriend Zack Ryder Comments on Seeing Her Live

Former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Chelsea Green (aka Laurel Van Ness) made her in-ring debut for WWE NXT last night, competing at a live event in Largo, Florida.

Green lost her first match back to Mae Young Classic stand-out Deonna Purrazzo, but got the chance to show off her “hot mess” persona, emerging from the back mid-match with lipstick smeared all over her face.

WWE Superstar Zack Ryder was apparently in attendance to watch his girlfriend wrestle live for the very first time. You can check out photos from the debut as well as their comments in the tweets posted below.

L’athlète s’élancera avec des béquilles, sa prothèse ne lui permettant pas de monter les marches sans douleur. “Monter des escaliers avec une prothèse, c’est compliqué et douloureux. Il faut faire un grand geste pour que le genou plie et l’emboîture rentre dans l’aine“, partage-t-elle. Si la Varoise n’a pas peur du défi qui l’attend, elle appréhende en revanche les conditions climatiques : “Les escaliers sont métalliques, et si ça glisse, cela va compliquer les choses avec le vent.“

Arez signs multi-year deal with MLW

After making his debut for the promotion last month, luchador Arez has officially signed with MLW.

It was announced today that Arez has signed a multi-year deal with MLW. He’s part of Cesar Duran’s Azteca Underground in MLW. Duran was formerly known as Dario Cueto in Lucha Underground.

Arez was one of the draft picks in the 2021 MLW Open Draft. He debuted for the promotion at last month’s Battle Riot tapings in Philadelphia, taking part in the 40-man Battle Riot match. Arez also faced fellow MLW newcomer Aramis in a singles match at the tapings.

“MLW today announced it has come to terms with luchador Arez on a multi-year agreement. Arez participated in the 2021 Open Draft as a then unrestricted free agent. Having impressed league officials, including matchmaker Cesar Duran, MLW moved quickly to come to terms on a formal agreement,” MLW announced.

First Look Inside Melbourne Cricket Ground for This Weekend’s WWE Super Show-Down (Photos)

The construction has already begun at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia, as the superstars of WWE Raw and Smackdown Live get set for this Saturday’s highly anticipated WWE Super Show-Down pay-per-view event.

As you can see in the photos below, the cricket field has been tarped over, and because the arena is outdoors a large canopy has been constructed over the ring and ringside area. Pop-up stands selling official WWE merchandise and programs for this weekend’s show have also begun appearing around the city.
