Yusuf Yazici’s Lille future undecided

July 27, 2023 | News | No Comments

As reported by Ignazio Genuardi, Yusuf Yazici (25), on loan at CSKA Moscow from Lille has an uncertain future. The Russian side are yet to trigger the buy option within the loan contract, and he is also garnering interest across the continent.

Genuardi reports that CSKA Moscow have requested an extension on the deadline by which they have to decide on the Turkish midfielder’s continuity at the club. Should they decide not to trigger the buy option, he is not short of suitors.

Clubs in Russia, Germany, England and Italy are all interested in a player that has scored 8 goals in 10 matches in the Russian Premier League this season, having joined on loan during the winter transfer window.

Rugby World Cup 2021 (played in 2022) has delivered plenty of standout performances as moves into the knockout stages.Whilst it has been void of a major upset, the tournament has delivered an exciting brand of Rugby across the three weekends of triple-headers.New Zealand have delighted home crowds with three dominant performances whilst the likes of England and Canada have cemented their status as contenders.Along with this, the emergence of Fiji and Japan have been a welcome revelation, just in time for the WXV competition next year.Rugby.com.au looks at the standout players from the group stages.1. Hope RogersRogers' status as one of the best looseheads in the world continues to be cemented after a series of strong performances for the USA.The loosehead was arguable America's best in their defeat to Italy whilst her charging run to set up Jenny Detiveaux's try helped seal the win against Japan. This coupled with a dominant showing at scrum time helps secure her spot in the side. 2. Emily TuttosiTuttosi has emerged as a try-scoring machine at the back of an all-powerful Canadian pack. The hooker finished the opening match as a deserving player of the match following a hat-trick against Japan, twice off the back of rolling mauls. She added three further in the final two games, emerging as a key piece for a Canadian side flying under the radar.3. Siteri RasoleaRasolea will go back to Fiji as a hero after an inspirational showing during their maiden Rugby World Cup victory over South Africa. The Fijian bulldozed her way through the defence to set up the game-winning try, whilst she tried to will their side into the contest against France.4. Abbie WardWard just edges out English teammate Zoe Aldcroft as the pair provided solid and reliable service to their pack. The lock saluted during their rout against Fiji, backing it up the following week as she was one of the standout players during their win over France.England's depth in the second row was on full display in the final game of the tournament as Rosie Galligan had a breakout game, finishing with a hat-trick with Ward and Aldcroft on the sidelines.5. Chelsea BremnerChelsea Bremner has emerged as an integral player in the Black Ferns' chances as they push for a title on home soil.Bremner was one of several standouts in the wins over the Wallaroos and Wales, rested for the final game against Scotland. However, her impressive work rate was enough to secure her selection over the likes of Aldcroft and French standout Madoussou Fall.6. Aseza HeleThis team is taking a leaf out of the Brumbies and playing two eights in the back row, such is the depth at the position. It was just too tough to leave out Aseza Hele, with the South African emerging as the breakout player of the tournament.Hele is a brutal runner of the play that proved she can match it with the best and can emerge as the central player to help take the women's program into the future.Alex Matthews was once again solid for England whilst Emily Chancellor continues to deliver strong performances for the Wallaroos.7. Alex CalendarCalendar has been a workhorse for Wales throughout their tough group stages. The flanker leads the tournament with an incredible 62 tackles from three games, including 28 against the Wallaroos.8. Megumi AbeThe Japanese scrumhalf has emerged as a cult hero as Japan showed they can match it with the best.Standing at 4ft 9inches, Abe threw her body into the contest against Canada before stunning the USA with an early try.France's Laure Sansus would've likely earned selection had it not been for injury, with replacement (and partner) Pauline Bourdon picking up where she left off against Fiji.10. Ruahei DemantDemant remains one of the key leaders for the Black Ferns, marshalling the backline around the park with ease. Her presence against the Wallaroos was calming as they racked up 41 unanswered points.Demant backed this up with a player-of-the-match performance against Wales as the flyhalf has relished the added responsibility of co-captaining alongside Kennedy Simon11. Portia WoodmanPortia Woodman continues to remind everyone why she is one of the most dangerous players in World Rugby. The winger's remarkable ability to find the line was on full display against the Wallaroos as her hat-trick helped turned the tide and secure the important bonus-point victory.Woodman backed this up with a double against Wales, winning the close call over teammate Ruby Tui12. Sesenieli Donu Another Fijian that has had their stocks completely raised by the Rugby World Cup.Donu lit up the crowd on opening day as her impressive offloading game gave England troubles. The inside centre then backed it up to help Fiji to their first ever win over South Africa.Italian Beatrice Rigoni once again shows her world-class talent whilst the likes of Sharni Williams and Helena Rowland remain integral to their respective teams.13. Sylvia BruntBrunt leads the latest generation of Black Ferns to take over the world stage. She was incredible against the Wallaroos before crossing for a double against Wales.14. Bienne Terita Speaking of young guns firing, Terita has picked up where she left off on Test debut with three consistently impressive performances. The Sevens convert sparked the Wallaroos with a quick double against New Zealand whilst her try against Scotland started the comeback.Heer aerial prowess is also incredible to watch as the 19-year-old continues to finds her feet on the world stage15. Vittoria Ostuni MinuzziMinuzzi has been rock solid for Italy at the back to help secure their spot in the quarter-finals for the first time ever. The fullback scored one of the tries of the tournament against Canada, racing away from the defence in the first 40 seconds. She also opened the scoring in their 22-10 win over the USA, holding out Black Ferns' Renee Holmes.Click Here: stade francais rugby jerseys

Speaking to Canal+ after the final game of the season against Monaco, Lens right-back Jonathan Clauss reflected on his future ahead of the summer transfer window.

The France international indicated that there would be “discussions“, but that for the time being he was concentrating on the Nations League fixtures next month with Les Bleus.

“Honestly, like I’ve said before, I have no idea. The only concrete thing I know is that I am under contract until 2023. For now the future is unclear, because we know there will be discussions, of course.”

“Personally I’m going to try to rest up and then concentrate on the Nations League with France. It’s difficult to give an answer because as we saw tonight, this is an extraordinary club, I feel it deeply. It’s not just football, it’s everything around it, it’s in the heart, in the blood. If I was to leave it would hurt me, but that’s football, and if I stay it will be with great pleasure.”

Ligue 1 season to run from August to June

July 15, 2023 | News | No Comments

The LFP – French professional football’s governing body – has released its calendar for the 2022/23 season with the dates for France’s domestic competitions over the coming season.

The Ligue 1 season will start on the first weekend of August – nominally, Sunday 7th – and will run all the way up to the first weekend of June. The late ending is due to the World Cup, which will take place in the winter and force a month-and-a-half break.

As for the second tier, the first round of games will be played on the final weekend of July, and end on the same day as Ligue 1. No play-off will take place this year as Ligue 1 will be reduced to 18 teams the following season, meaning only 2 teams will go up and 4 down from the top tier.

The World Cup break will start after matchday 15 on November 13, and league action will resume 10 days after the final, on December 28.

L’Équipe report today that Lens midfielder Cheick Doucouré has agreed terms with Crystal Palace over his future salary should a move to the Premier League materialise this summer.

The two clubs are far from reaching an agreement over the 22-year-old Mali international though, with Doucouré one of the key men of Franck Haise’s team and under contract until the end of the 2023/24 season, as is the case with Séko Fofana.

Doucouré is unlikely to leave his formative club for lower that the Sang et Or’s asking price of €25m. The 7th-place finishers are not in any immediate financial need either, having funded their upcoming transfer window in advance with a loan taken out last summer.

Alongside his midfield partner Fofana, Doucouré has been one of the standout players in the Lens team since their return from Ligue 2 two seasons ago. This year, he has made 34 Ligue 1 appearances, in what was his fourth full season with the senior squad.

Adil Rami set to extend Troyes stay

July 11, 2023 | News | No Comments

According to L’Est Éclair, Troyes’ French defender Adil Rami (36) is set to extend his contract, which is due to expire at the end of this month.

Rami made 18 appearances for the side last season, including 15 starts, as Troyes achieved a mid-table finish in Ligue 1, having achieved promotion the previous season. Rami joined the club last summer on a free after his contract at Portuguese side Boavista expired.

The France World Cup winner is set for talks with the club next week about a prolongation of his contract. According to L’Est Éclair, “only the financial details of the new deal need to be sorted out.”

The nomadic centre-back has plied his trade across Europe, playing for Lille, Valencia, AC Milan, Sevilla, Fenerbahce, Marseille and Boavista. Rami has previously expressed a desire to continue at Troyes next season, and the latest news regarding the contract extension alludes to both the player and the club “being on the same wavelength.”

According to Foot Mercato Mauricio Pochettino has already declined an approach from Bilbao sporting director Ramon Planes. The former Tottenham manger is reported to be more open to a “serious and long-term” move to England.

With his departure from PSG expected to be made official in the next few days, or even hours, the future for Pochettino hangs in the balance after a bitter experience at the Parc des Princes. The former PSG player’s future has not been in doubt for a while, even before the arrival of Luis Campos as sporting adviser in the wake of Kylian Mbappé’s contract extension. Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi made the decision as part of the overhaul in the club’s management this summer. He is set to be paid between €15 and €20 million for his contract to be terminated a year early.

In Spain in particular, there is talk of him taking over at Athletic Bilbao, as the Basque club’s presidential candidate Ricardo Barkala is said to have made him his election promise to occupy the bench next season in the event of victory. Pochettino has already worked in Spain once before at Espanyol, but has already reportedly declined an approach from the Basque club.

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting a turn in events in the Isaak Touré (19) transfer saga. The Le Havre centre-back now looks set to stay in France with a move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.

Earlier in the week, it was reported by L’Équipe that Touré was all set to join Manchester City on a “long-term contract” before potentially being loaned out for ESTAC Troyes for the upcoming season.

Marseille, however, have maintained a strong interest in the France U19 defender, and have reportedly been locked in conversations with the player’s representatives since early May.

According to DI Marzio, Marseille have been “pursuing contacts with his entourage for days,” and the negotiations are now in an “advanced state.” Di Marzio does add that the deal is not yet done, although it is moving closer and the fee is thought to be around  €7m.

Touré enjoyed a break-through season with Le Havre last season, where he made 17 Ligue 2 appearances.

The All Blacks were made to work hard for a 38-31 win over Japan in Tokyo on Saturday as they kicked off their northern hemisphere tour.Brodie Retallick was shown a 66th-minute red card for dangerous play to set up a nervy finale for New Zealand at a sold-out National Stadium.Kazuki Himeno scored a late try but it was not enough for a spirited Japan side looking for their first-ever win over the All Blacks."It's our first game after a bit of a break and we were a bit rusty, but they played really well and it turned into a really tight game," said All Blacks head coach Ian Foster."We got put under a lot of pressure but I really liked the way we played. Japan came back very well before half-time and really turned the game into a tight contest."Retallick, Braydon Ennor, Sevu Reece, Caleb Clarke and Hoskins Sotutu all scored tries for New Zealand, who will now head to Europe to take on Wales, Scotland and England."It was a very tough match today, we got what we expected, we knew the Japanese are a very tough, skilful side, and they put us under a lot of pressure," said All Blacks captain Sam Cane."I think our composure kept us in the fight, and we've got guys who can score tries quickly."New Zealand scored the opening try in the 11th minute when Dane Coles broke through a tackle and passed it on for Retallick to gallop home.Ennor crossed the line in the 26th minute to finish off a slick move for the All Blacks' second try of the afternoon.Reece added another just over five minutes later when Richie Mo'unga flew in to pick off a long line-out throw and feed the winger for the try.But just when it looked like Japan were out of the contest, the home side hit back with two tries shortly before half-time.First, Yamasawa crossed the line after fumbles in the All Blacks defence from Stephen Perofeta and Ennor. Then Yutaka Nagare scored another to send Japan into the break trailing by only four points.New Zealand stretched their lead just minutes after the restart when Clarke broke through the Japanese defence to touch down for a try.But Japan hit back again when Warner Dearns charged down Finlay Christie's kick and held to the ball to race over the line.Sotutu scored a try in the 61st minute before Retallick saw red five minutes later after charging recklessly into a ruck.Himeno scored a late try for Japan to set up a nervy finale but New Zealand held on for the win."I'm very proud of our players," said Japan's New Zealand-born head coach Jamie Joseph, whose team will now head to Europe to play England and France."They showed the right intent, right from the start until the end. It was exactly what we're trying to build as a rugby team."Click Here: cheap nike men shoes
