Le Progrès report that Ligue 1 strugglers Nîmes are close to a deal with Lyon to sign 19-year-old attacker Amine Gouiri on loan.

The teenager has asked the OL board to be sent on loan this month owing to a lack of playing time, having made just two substitute appearances so far this season. A verbal agreement between Nîmes and Lyon has already been reached between the two clubs, but a deal is contingent on OL signing an attacker this January.

Our colleagues at Foot Mercato report that Lyon have had an opening bid for 22-year-old defensive midfielder Bruno Guimarães rejected by Athletico Paranaense.

The proposal is said to have been €17m, the Brazilian side wants at least €20m and would like to retain part of the ownership rights to the player, which is complicating their negotiations with other interested parties including Arsenal and Benfica.

To gain 100% ownership of Guimarães, the outlet speculates that a club would have to spend €40m.

It is not currently clear whether LFP rules would allow OL to buy Guimarães without owning the totality of the player’s economic rights.
