Crystal Palace have joined Watford in the hunt for Ismaila Sarr

L’Équipe report that 21-year-old Senegalese international winger Ismaila Sarr remains a likely mover on the English transfer deadline.
As of Tuesday a deal was imminent between Rennes and Watford for €30m + €5m, with the player set to earn €350k pre-tax per month with the Hornets.
However, Rennes President Létang has delayed a deal, having wanted €40m and knowing that Premier League clubs will only become more desperate as the clock ticks down.
Yesterday morning, Crystal Palace entered into discussions with the Brittany club to buy Sarr – the exact size of the Eagles’ offer has not filtered through but it is understood to be worth around €30m excluding bonuses, less than what is on offer from Watford.
The outlet claims that Palace have decided to sell Wilfried Zaha, which will enable them to improve their bid for Sarr. Rennes representatives are taking Crystal Palace very seriously in the final hours of the English window.
SRFC are taking Palace especially seriously because they also know that in recent hours, Watford have been working on a possible deal for PSV winger Steven Bergwijn. The 21-year-old’s value is understood to be around €35m, similar to Sarr. The Pozzo family do not intend to overpay for the Senegalese winger.
In Sarr’s camp, last night there was big confidence about a move to Watford becoming a reality.
Tick tock.
