According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed to trademark the classic WCW PPV name “Starrcade”. The Starrcade event was always considered to be WCW’s marquee event of the year, akin to WWE’s WrestleMania, and got its start in Jim Crockett Promotions back in 1983.

WWE last used the Starrcade event for a live event back in December 2017 in Greensboro, NC, where the PPV got its start. The report furthers the timing of WWE’s trademark filing is interesting given the rumors surrounding a possible Women’s PPV taking place in WWE sometime this year.
