St. Louis Braves Storms To Celebrate Blues Championship: Photos

ST. LOUIS, MO — Fans lined Market Street for more than a mile Saturday morning, braving rain and storms for a glimpse of the Stanley Cup during the St. Louis Blues’ championship victory parade. It was going to take more than a little rain to dampen the city’s spirits after the team clinched game 7 against the Boston Bruins Wednesday night — a victory 52 years in the making.
The Blues had never won a championship since joining the NHL in 1967. Fans called it a “dream come true,” some cheering and some weeping, amid refrains of “Gloria” and cheers of “We got the cup!” and “Let’s go Blues!”
And it wasn’t just fans overcome with emotion.
“You want to see some f—ing emotion?” Goalie Jordan Binnington asked the crowd during a rally in the shadow of the Gateway Arch. “We’re Stanley Cup champions, baby!”
