Almost assuredly due to the monumental viewership expected for tonight’s President debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, WWE has just issued a press release to PWTorch noting that the first first time ever, the WWE World Title match will open up tonight’s No Mercy. So A.J. Styles vs. John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose will kick off the main part of the PPV tonight.

Keller’s Analysis: This is a smart move in the WWE Network era where people are paying a flat monthly fee and aren’t spending $55, give or take, for all three hours of the event, to give the most anticipated match first given tonight’s expected debate viewership. I am curious which match they main event with, though. Will it be the Intercontinental Title, which is a close race in our poll for the most anticipated match of the night, along with the Triple Threat title match. This is also an opportunity for Randy Orton to be positioned as a main event babyface, or Becky Lynch’s Women’s Championship to close out the show, although I’m not sure Alexa Bliss is at the level of a PPV main event challenger at this point. There’s also a chance the booking of the finish of the Triple Threat match will lead to something later in the show.
