Backstage News on WWE Asking Tom Phillips to Stop Saying A Term

Mauro Ranallo introduced the name of a move that AJ Styles often uses in Smackdown Live and it appears that someone in WWE was not pleased with the term he introduced which is  “ushigoroshi”. Tom Phillips was also using that term as well, but this past week on Smackdown Live when Styles did the move, Phillips referred to it differently, he referred to it as the “fireman’s carry neck-breaker”.
There is a belief in WWE that if a certain term was not used for a move back in their day, then it shouldn’t be used at all. The fact that Phillips all of a sudden changed the term he used for the move that AJ Styles uses is a definite sign that he was told to drop the “ushigoroshi” term.
