November 18, 2020 | News | No Comments
AEW star Chris Jericho released a video statement on his Instagram commenting on the passing of longtime CMLL owner Paco Alonso, who died this past Saturday at 67. In an emotional and touching tribute, Jericho thanks Alonso for giving him a chance in the early 90s, and calls him one of the best bosses he ever had.
I just heard that Paco Alonso, the president of CMLL in Mexico City passed away. I don’t know why it hit me so hard but it did because he was the first guy that believed in me, and made me into a main event star in 1993. He gave me the name Corazón de León. I don’t know what happened, I don’t know how he passed away but he was pretty young. I just want to say thanks Paco for believing in me…believing in this kid from Canada. Thanks for giving me a chance and always taking care of me. You were one of the best bosses I ever had. Thanks Paco. Mucho Gusto senor. I love you. Thanks Paco.
