As noted, Triple H conducted an NXT Takeover media call today, and during the call, The Game was asked if Shawn Michaels might return to the ring following HBK’s recent comments about a possible ring return. The Game somewhat dodged the question, saying “you have to ask Shawn directly”.

Triple H then joked that someone could “TMZ him” at the airport, but they’d likely wind up on the wrong end of a Superkick.

Also on today’s media call, Triple H revealed that the WWE Performance Center is currently offering its talents help in managing their finances, in addition to advising them on how best to use social media to build their brand, and how to avoid making possible career-ending mistakes on social media platforms.

Triple H Asks Kane To Join Evolution

Pete Dunne spoke to the UK media today to hype the final day of the UK Championship show as he defends his United Kingdom Championship. When speaking to SportBible.com, Dunne revealed how important main eventing the Royal Albert Hall was, and how he plans to tackle defending his title against Zack Gibson.

Working Royal Albert Hall:

“It’s a highlight of my career, one hundred percent, I think they found the perfect location. If you want to launch a UK brand, this is the best place you could possibly find. The crowd were amazing. A couple of moments in the match, it was almost quite emotional for us. The bit where we punched the three of them in the face and left the ring while we were left standing there, the crowd just kept coming, coming and coming and [getting]louder and louder.

“We knew in the moment, and we talked about it afterwards, how special that is. I think you’re only going to get that with a British audience.”

WWE Championship defense:

“I think Zack’s a great talent, he’s done really well today and it’s such a high-pressure situation. I’ve worked with him, and wrestled him many times. Obviously, this is the biggest stage and it’s something I’m used to. I hope he steps up, I hope he brings it and I hope we have another Match of the Year contender.”

As previously reported, WWE announced earlier this afternoon that Shinsuke Nakamura would be unable to compete in his planned title match against Jeff Hardy on tonight’s episode of Smackdown Live.

The original statement only noted that he was “injured” and disclosed no further information, or whether he would require any additional time off beyond this week’s show, leading many to believe the so-called “injury” was actually part of an angle to continue building the program between Hardy and Nakamura.

However, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com has confirmed that the injury to Nakamura is legitimate, and the Smackdown star missed Monday’s live event in Bakersfield, California because he was bitten by a police dog at the Rabobank Arena.

Hopefully the King of Strong-Style will not be out of action for too long, as he is currently advertised for this Friday’s WWE Live event at Ryugoku Sumo Hall in Japan. As for Jerff Hardy, the Charismatic Engima will instead defend his WWE United States Championship in an Open Challenge.

Killer Kross Says “I Am the New Beginning”

Also on Impact Wrestling tonight, the Mystery X Attacker, Killer Kross, cut a promo explaining that he came to Impact to turn the business upside down and cause mayhem. He referred to himself as the new beginning in Impact Wrestling, and you can check out more below:

During the latest episode of the Something To Wrestle With podcast, Bruce Prichard went into detail discussing Sable’s infamous Playboy photo shoot.

How the deal happened:

“We were hot at the time and the product itself was hot and Rena was — good god, Sable that character [was]one of the most downloaded females in the world,” Bruce Prichard said. “Playboy as they often or at least did back in the day would often reach out to celebrities or other people who would appeal to their audience and make that offer, ‘would you pose nude for Playboy?’ They approached WWE about Sable and asked. There was even talk of doing the women of WWF and all that other stuff but Playboy had approached us.”

How Sable got the gig:

“I don’t know all the particulars about this but usually they approach the company and since we have the talent contract we’re the ones that broker the deal and yeah the company gets a portion of that money because they’re under contract to the company. So I’m sure Vince looking at it and saying, ‘which of the females?’ Then approached her and asked if she would even be in interested in it if it’s something she’d consider doing and she interested in doing it so they went further on with the deal until finally it was actually done and everybody agreed on it.”

Playboy taking two cover shots:

“I think it was Playboy’s choice looking at the two pictures and deciding which one was gonna sell more magazines,” Prichard said. “Not just appealing to the wrestling fan with the belt and what have you. I don’t know what the hell their thinking was behind it but I thought the cover they picked was a pretty good one.”
