After suffering a brutal, heart-wrenching loss at the hands of his bitter rival Tommaso Ciampa at NXT Takeover: Chicago, the usually upbeat Johnny Gargano returned to action this week on WWE NXT television showing off a whole new attitude.

After defeating EC3 in the show’s main event with a very familiar looking unprotected knee strike to the face, Gargano was interviewed outside the arena and claimed that he woke up after Takeover a brand new man, and that “Johnny Wrestling” was gone – possibly for good. Check out the video below. You can also check out highlights from his return match against EC3 in the player above.

As noted, following his victory Ciampa is now next in line for a shot at the NXT Championship, currently held by the equally methodical and terrifying Aleister Black. The two will collide in three week’s time on the July 25th edition of WWE NXT television.

Sasha Banks Reveals Classic Match Pick

As noted, WWE Network has debuted a new collection feature called “Superstar Picks”, and the first edition features Sasha Banks selecting Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 21 as the match that made her want to become the female Eddie Guerrero.

At Sunday night’s Impact Wrestling television taping event in Toronto, Ontario the third generation star Tessa Blanchard scored a huge victory over Su Yung and Allie to become the new Knockouts Champion.

We had already reported on the title change in our spoiler-filled post late last night, but now Impact itself has actually spoiled the results of their own television tapings, despite the fact that the match won’t take place for several weeks. The decision to reveal major spoilers this early may have something to do with TMZ posting footage of Blanchard calling her parents to tell them the good news, which you can check out at this link.

While on the red carpet for the “Skyscraper” New York City premiere, The Rock reflects on starting his WWE career in the city that never sleeps.

On returning to a WWE ring, The Rock had the following to say:

“I can’t wait to get back into a WWE ring, because everybody always asks me, ‘what’s it like being in a WWE ring, and I always tell them…there’s nothing like it. There’s nothing like inside of a WWE ring because there is a certain live crowd acumen, there’s great connective tissue that is second to none.”

Injured WWE star Charlotte Flair, who is currently recovering from surgery to repair a ruptured breast implant, Tweeted the following, noting she misses the ring. There is currently no timetable in place for Charlotte’s return to WWE TV:

Cody Rhodes recently hosted a fan Q&A via his Twitter account where he answered a range of questions from his fans, including what his favorite match is.

Cody was asked what wrestling match he considers to be the greatest of all time and his answer was The Rock vs Hulk Hogan, adding that he doesn’t trust anybody who thinks otherwise. Hogan responded to Cody’s tweet, thanking him for his thoughts but added his own favorite ever match, which was Dusty Rhodes against The Great Malenko.

Cody Confirms Enzo Is Not ALL IN

Cody Rhodes was asked when he would be announcing Enzo Amore for the ALL IN event, but Cody categorically made his point that Enzo is not booked and will never be getting announced.

Cody Takes Shot At Zack Ryder

Another of the questions Cody was asked was how he feels about Toys ‘R’ Us closing down and the ROH star made it clear he doesn’t care about it. Cody stated that he doesn’t give a sh*t about Geoffrey since he was a child and was told he was too old for action figures.

He went on to take a shot at Zack Ryder, saying that people like him who cry over the store closing could have avoided it by not ordering collectibles online.
