WWE Superstar Bayley recently appeared as a guest on an episode of the “Steve Austin Show” podcast for an interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On Vince McMahon, not Triple H, being the “go-to-guy” behind-the-scenes in WWE: “Yeah, I don’t know if Hunter’s really, like, the one to go for WWE. Obviously, for NXT, that was his baby, so he ran it all, but I’ve had conversations with him while being here [on the main roster] and it’s kind of more out of his… it’s not so much in his hands up with WWE. If I were to ask [Triple H] something, he was like, ‘you’re better off talking to Vince’ and he said, ‘you need to have that relationship with him anyway,’ so it’s good to have a relationship with him and I was like, ‘okay!'”

On feeling comfortable talking with Vince: “I feel comfortable talking to Vince, which seems so crazy for me to say. For me, I’ve been a fan, I’ve been watching him forever, and I’m like, ‘yeah, I’m comfortable to talk to Vince McMahon.’ Yeah, but if it was something I felt really strongly about, like I had the perfect idea, and I have the direction I want. I want ideas. I want kind of… I’m not going to go in there and be like, ‘hey, I feel weird – maybe I should change a little bit.’ I want to have exactly the idea of what I want to present to him and I’d probably just go to Vince because that’s the only way to go, if it’s something like that. I’ve talked to him a few times to where I’m like, ‘now, I feel fine.’ Like he’s still intimidating as hell when he walks by and you want to make sure you’re on your best behavior, but I feel comfortable enough.”

On feeling like she is starting over again and has to work her way back into title contention: “That was one of those things that I talked to Vince about and I was happy I did. I felt like that was a step back and I’m starting over again. I was the champion. And then, I had my rematch and I was right there until the main spot in the women’s division on RAW. And since I lost Alexa, I’m kind of starting back over again where I’m in line with everybody else, which I’m fine with. I really like the chase and working for it. And honestly, I just want to wrestle! Like, I don’t need to be in these crazy gimmick matches or always be working for the championship. Of course I want to be champion because that means you’re the best, but I just love wrestling and if I can have good matches week in and week out, that would make me happy.”

On if she ever thinks about turning heel: “It breaks my heart even thinking about it! And so, when I do have these ideas, like, I write everything down, ideas, just in case, they want ideas, ‘like, okay, we’re going to do this,’ I have ideas for that. But even just thinking about that, like one day, I was like, ‘yeah, I’m going to pitch this! I’m going to do it! Like, I want to be a heel!’ And then, I went out that night for our match and I saw maybe five or six girls dressed up like me and we had met these girls before the show that were just in tears meeting us. I was like, ‘okay, no, I can’t do it! I can’t turn my back on them. I don’t know what would happen.'”

Alberto El Patron has been stripped of the Undisputed World Heavyweight Title In the WAW promotion, owned by Paige’s family. This is the top championship belt in the promotion, which is lead by Paige’s father Ricky Knight.

WAW issued the below statement on the World Title vacancy, which doesn’t mention the former champion Alberto by name.

“The WAW Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship has been declared vacant at last night’s Academy Show in Costessey, following a unanimous decision by the WAW Championship Committee. The WAWCC’s decision was announced by Zak Knight but no information was revealed regarding the crowning of a new champion. Since the announcement several individuals have announced their desire to compete for the title. Both European Heavyweight Champion Robin Lekime and British Heavyweight Champion Aaron Sharp have already revealed their desire to add more gold to their repertoire, as well as former World Heavyweight Champion Brad Slayer and former European Heavyweight Champion King Kendo. With four of WAW’s top competitors already eyeing up the most prestigious title will anyone else step forward in the hope of gaining public support?

A 32 man tournament has been announced to determine a new Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion over the course of the rest of 2017 with the final taking place at Epic Studios, Norwich in December. The entrants into this tournament will be deliberated by the WAWCC over the coming weeks before brackets are announced.”

The announcement comes about a week after an incident at the Orlando International Airport between Alberto and Paige made headlines all over the web. Paige’s brother Zak wrote on his Facebook that he’s worried about his sister and accused Alberto of domestic violence. Del Rio is also currently suspended indefinitely by Global Force Wrestling.

TMZ reported that there was some sort of domestic disturbance between the two at the airport. A witness claimed to Heavy.com that Paige yelled out loud that Alberto had been doing cocaine for “two days straight,” and Alberto allegedly replied that she was the one with the drugs in her bag.

  • The storyline of Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar “leaving” WWE if Lesnar loses at SummerSlam is basically a story for “insiders” to try and play off the rumor that Lesnar is going to head to UFC to fight Jon Jones.

  • The truth of the matter is that neither Lesnar or Heyman are going anywhere as both are under contract until next spring, despite how any current or future storylines play out.

  • With that said, the planned winner of the four-way Universal title match at SummerSlam is currently rumored to be Lesnar, despite all the speculation that the multi-person match is a way for the company to get the title off of Brock without actually pinning him.

WWE United Kingdom ring announcer Andy Shepherd recently spoke with the folks at Cult Of Whatever for an interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On the future of WWE U.K. Championship shows: “I know what you guys know, we all want it to happen, I think as fans first and foremost we want to see WWE do something over here in the UK. The guys have shown we have the talent and not just in the UK scene like with Pete and Tyler showcasing the best of British at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. These guys are the real deal, they are superstars and I think people want to see that.

“Personally, myself like you guys do want to see a regular show from the UK. If they start to build a brand over here I can see them filling the bigger arenas but I love venues with character like the Winter Gardens in Blackpool and York Hall in London, those types of venues give the show real character and charm. It looks different to Raw, SmackDown and NXT, it sets itself apart which I think is really cool.”

On working alongside the likes of Triple H, William Regal, Michael Cole and others in WWE: “Absolutely incredible. Michael Cole had been amazing to me throughout this entire process, he helped me through everything; I can’t say enough good things about him. The same goes for all of the guys backstage, William Regal, the word legend doesn’t sum that guy up, the stories he can tell and he is so nice to everyone and will always make time for you, until you see it with your own eyes it is hard to describe.

“Hunter is really helping push so many different avenues of this business forward and the talks he gives you before the show starts and when the show finishes are so inspirational. It’s little things when William or Paul will come up to you shake hands and say well done, it means so much.”

On WWE management that he works with: “All of the guys that came over from the States I can’t say enough good things about them, how supportive they were to everyone throughout the roster.”

WWE Superstar Rusev recently spoke with The Sporting News to promote tonight’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On the WWE developmental system: “The best thing that ever happened to the developmental system is Triple H being in charge.”

On Triple H influencing his career while he was in NXT: “Everything happened really, really fast. I was picking up steam a little bit and I wasn’t even on TV in NXT. I had a dark match with Dolph Ziggler, and Triple H was there at the time and, he had never seen me before, and he was like, ‘Oh, who’s that kid?’ I was very fortunate that Triple H was there that day to see me perform.”

On Terry Taylor suggesting he use The Accolade and Arn Anderson suggesting he kick opponents in the back before using it: “In this business there are 1,000 people that are going to give you advice, you just have to pick what’s working for you, what’s good, and what’s bad for you. But you can’t say it’s bad either.”
