Bill Goldberg recently spoke with the folks from The Digital Spy for an interview. Featured below are some of the highlights.

On whether or not The Undertaker should retire: “You know, it’s not my decision. If you asked him the same question about me, he’d probably say the same thing. At the end of the day, it’s up to the person lacing those boots up, and my opinion is nothing but that. And one person’s opinion doesn’t mean that things are right or wrong. I believe that in Mark’s head, Mark knows when to call it quits. He’ll do it when he wants to, and nobody can tell him otherwise, except for Vince, maybe. You know, they can sit down and have a man-to-man, and when it gets to the point where the performance isn’t there, or you’re enduring too much pain [where] you have to prepare too many different ways to get into the match, then it’s time to do it.

“But, it’s a really very hard thing to do. And money doesn’t drive it. People think that money drives them, and that has nothing to do with it. We’re talking about careers here that need to be made or broken in one or two matches, or one comeback. One of the old-time programs. You know you don’t want to change your legacy. So, it’s something very much to consider, and it’s tough. I mean, when I got offered the opportunity to come back, it was tough for me. I mean, I didn’t know — personally, I didn’t want to do it. For the family, there wasn’t an iota in my mind that didn’t want to do it. So I had to meet myself in the middle, take a sacrifice, and take one for the team and go out and do my thing. I wasn’t prepared the way I wanted to be, but I finally got prepared enough, and then it was time to hang them up again.”

On whether or not we could see Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 35: “All I got to say is, it ain’t up to me. Whether it’s Reigns or ‘Taker, and, I don’t know, I’m not gonna say anybody else. Hey, Reigns and ‘Taker are the two guys on my list right now. I mean, obviously for two different reasons, but I’d be honoured to get in the ring with either one of them. And I still owe Brock one, but I’m two-and-one on him, so it’s all good.”

As noted, WWE Hall Of Famer Bill Goldberg recently spoke with the folks from Inside The Ropes for an in-depth sit-down video interview. Featured below are some additional highlights.

On telling Vince McMahon he needs to change the WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony: “First and foremost I went to Vince and I told him my impression of the Hall Of Fame and what should happen. What happened the night before and I don’t think it’s a justice to the people being inducted. I don’t think it’s a justice to the fans that sit there for four hours.

“I think it needs to be changed completely right up on its head. I don’t care what anybody says and I don’t care if the person that puts it together thinks I’m full of s–t. It needs to be changed because it sucks. I don’t care about what other people say or how they did it, I’m telling you in my experience as a headliner in 2018 in the Hall Of Fame — it needs to be changed.”

On if things were better the next night at WrestleMania: “That’s a tough question. Because I went up to Vince and I told him — I’m not gonna tell you everything I told Vince — but let’s just that me standing there after I was done with the Hall Of Fame on a Monday Night Raw it’s like being on the sidelines when you can play. I couldn’t stand it just because I’m a competitive dude and I don’t sit backstage and watch people do their thing when I’m still capable of doing it.

“It was the coolest experience of my life being inducted as the headliner of the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame. It was awesome, but yeah the next night I was like a caged animal man. You know it’s tough for me and it is what it is and I have to grow up and be a man about it and accept things the way they are, but if I’m still capable of doing something I don’t like watching people do it.”

Renault’s Esteban Ocon heads to Bahrain this week determined to turn around the bad luck that has dogged his results recently.

Renault’s improved performance in the back half of the season yielded podium finishes for Daniel Ricciardo at the Nürburgring and at Imola.

But Ocon, whose progress over the year has inched him closer to the Aussie’s performance level, was sidelined at both venues by mechanical issues.

The Frenchman certainly deserves a couple of trouble-free races and an opportunity to shine as bright as his teammate.

“I’m definitely feeling motivated after what happened at the last two races,” Ocon said.

“I’ve said it doesn’t feel like we have too much luck on our side of the garage, but I believe it’s in our own hands to turn that around.

“There’s not much time to feel sorry for ourselves, so I’m determined to have a solid weekend and take some big points at a strategic time of the season.”

Bahrain’s double-header, which will take place on two distinct tracks configurations at Sakhir, the second of which has never been experienced by F1, will unfold in a much warmer environment than the chilly settings recently encountered by drivers.

“It’s going to be a lot hotter than what we’ve experienced recently, especially compared to Portimão and Turkey, where it was a lot cooler!” Ocon added.

“It’s back to a more normal weekend in terms of the conditions.

“It’s certainly a challenge for the cars and drivers racing in the heat.

“It’s going to be a little more conventional to have the tyres working back to normal and then it’s up to us to do the best on car set-up.

“Bahrain brings some great opportunities for overtaking and it’s also usually a great race for strategy, so let’s see what happens this weekend.

“Turn 1 is the best overtaking spot and Turn 4 is also pretty good. Overall, it’s a cool track, so I’m really looking forward to going there.”

Bahrain’s warmer temperatures will indeed provide tyres with better working conditions, but Renault chief race engineer Ciaron Pilbeam notes the timing of next weekend’s various sessions in terms of tyre management.

“One of the features of the Bahrain race weekend is the timing of the sessions, with practice one and three taking place in the heat of the day and practice two, qualifying and the race all later in the afternoon, when the track starts to cool down after sunset,” Pilbeam explained.

“This has a significant effect on tyre grip and performance, and makes practice two by far the most relevant practice session as it is the closest to the conditions of qualifying and the race.

“The circuit is generally quite hard on tyres, with some high speed cornering that generates a lot of energy, and a high traction demands out of the low and medium speed corners.”

— The details of Charlotte Flair’s breast surgery was due to issues with her implants. She stated that she first got implants at the age of 21 and they were saline implants that ended up leaking. She then had them redone with silicon and over the course of the last several months, began suffering from pain in her back and other parts of her body. Because she couldn’t recall an injury to explain the pain, a medical evaluation revealed that the source was due to the silicon implants also leaking into other parts of her body.

— As noted, Flair has gone on record to state that she expects to be cleared for in-ring action on July 31, and WWE is likely to move quickly to put her back into a storyline in time for SummerSlam.

During her 2002 debut with the WWE, Gail Kim captured the WWE Women’s Championship belt by winning a seven-woman battle royal that had been heavily hyped with weeks of promos promising a Matrix-inspired gimmick. Kim’s run with with WWE lasted two years following her debut win, only to be cut short due to down-sizing to cut costs in the company.

After parting ways with WWE, Kim spent 2005-2008 in TNA before making her return to WWE for another three-year run. Kim finished out the remainder of her career wrestling for Impact Wrestling after her 2011 return.

Following a suggestion from one Twitter fan that Gail Kim would make a good addition to the upcoming WWE Evolution pay-per-view in October, Kim stated that while she was happy for the women WWE talent, she had no interest in returning to the company. Kim went on to say if she ever did make a return, it would be for Impact Wrestling, the company with which she retired from in February 2018.

When asked why a WWE return isn’t a possibility, she replied saying that she was never happy in WWE during her two times with the company. She continued saying Impact Wrestling is her happiness and sometimes life is about more than money.

Gail Kim stated that the reason a WWE return wasn’t a possibility was that she was never happy in the company during her two stints, continuing that Impact Wrestling was her happiness and sometimes life is about more than money.

The Miz recently spoke with the folks from Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard section to promote his new USA Network reality show, Miz & Mrs. Featured below are some of the highlights.

On his career: “When I first got to WWE, people thought I was going to be fired within three months. No one liked me, no one wanted me there, whether it was the fans or the people backstage. I had to fight and fight and fight to earn my spot. Through hard work and dedication, I proved everyone wrong. And I’m the bad guy in WWE, which I find hilarious. This show is really a ‘feel good’ kind of story. I started off on the The Real World, and no one thought I would amount to anything. Then, all of a sudden, coming into this and pursuing my dream of becoming a WWE superstar, and also doing movies, hosting, and now my own show with my wife.”

On winning the MVP for the 2018 All Star Legends Celebrity game: “I surprised the hell out of myself when I got MVP for the 2018 All Star Legends Celebrity game. I had no idea I was going to get that. I was also surprised by the reviews of our show. I know we put a lot into the show, but I didn’t know what people were going to think.”

On Miz & Mrs.: “This was an opportunity to document what it’s like to be first-time parents in the entertainment industry. We actually get to see our baby getting born on television, and we’ll have this for the rest of our lives. It’s really cool to see people enjoying the show. We love the show, but to hear such great feedback, I’ve never had so many positive reviews.”
