It looks like Flip Gordon won’t be working the Road To G1 Supercard show after all.

ROHWrestling.com issued the following statement on Tuesday evening:

FLIP GORDON RE-INJURES KNEE, WILL NOT APPEAR IN BALTIMORE

Flip Gordon has re-injured his right knee and will not be able to appear at Road to G1 Supercard in Baltimore on March 31.

Gordon, who suffered an MCL tear in his knee during a match in January and was medically cleared to return to in-ring action last week, competed in a match in Northern Ireland for Over the Top Wrestling on March 24. When he woke up the following morning, his knee was “locked up.”

He was able to make his flight home and visited his doctor this morning. There is concern that Gordon may have suffered a “bucket handle” meniscus tear, which would require surgery and keep him out of action for four-to-six months. The extent of the injury will not be known until the results of Gordon’s MRI exam are in.

Gordon will still appear at G1 Supercard Festival of Honor on Friday, April 5 at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater as scheduled. For Full Schedule and Tickets, click here.

Stephanie McMahon has her sights set on Conor McGregor and Rob Gronkowski … telling TMZ Sports she would LOVE to get both sports superstars in the WWE ring.

We talked to McMahon — Vince’s daughter AND WWE honcho — Friday night in NYC … and asked her if there was anyone outside the WWE fam (like Conor or Gronk) she’d be interested in signing to the organization.

“Anybody who has a real big personality. I’d love to have Gronk in the ring. Conor McGregor, huge personality,” McMahon told us.

“It’s really about bringing in the biggest personalities with the best athletic ability.”

We followed up … asking if there have been any conversations between WWE and Gronk or Conor.

“We are always having conversations.”

So, yea … definitely wasn’t a no.

That wasn’t all … Stephanie also talked about the 1st all-female main event at WrestleMania — and she made it crystal clear there’s 1 simple reason Ronda, Becky, and Charlotte are headlining — they’re the best.

“It’s not about women having this opportunity because of a movement. It’s about these 3 women, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey being the biggest stars in WWE right now with the best storyline, the best characters,” McMahon says.

“They are the main event because they’ve earned it, and that’s what our audience is most interested in seeing.”

George Mizanin, father of the 8-time Intercontinental champion the Miz, appeared last night at an Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) event in his home state of Ohio. Mizanin would later get involved in the action, helping former WWE star Hornswoggle fight off several competitors. Photos below.

Mizanin has played a vital part in the current storyline between Shane McMahon and the Miz, appearing on WWE television several times, including at the Royal Rumble, Fastlane, and Wrestlemania. No confirmation that he’ll be at Sunday’s Money in the Bank show, where Miz is scheduled for face McMahon in a steel-cage bout.

Mercedes says Valtteri Bottas “meant no disrespect” to Chinese fans when he made a joke after last Sunday’s Turkish GP about someone who “bought a bat in Wuhan”.

Bottas endured a wretched time at Istanbul Park where the Finn’s race was undone as early as the first corner following a spin that was followed by five other gyrations over the course of the chaotic and wet afternoon.

After the eventful race, Bottas was asked by Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport if there was a day in 2020 that he would gladly discard.

“Today, yes!” quipped the Finn. “Or maybe the day when someone bought a bat in Wuhan.”

While trivial, the bat joke came across as a bad joke for Chinese fans on social media, prompting Mercedes to issue a statement on China’s Weibo platform defending its driver but also apologizing for the remark.

“Dear Chinese fans, as we all know, sport makes us emotional, particularly with the highs and lows brought by wins and losses,” said Mercedes.

“Last Sunday, Valtteri had a tough and disappointing race, in which he lost the world title.

“He didn’t intend to offend anyone in front of the TV cameras straight after the race, and certainly meant no disrespect to China and Chinese fans.

“He still is the Valtteri we all know, he cares about every fan in China as much as we do, wishes each of you the best and to stay safe in such a difficult time, and carries the commitment to showcase exciting racing for all of you.

“We wish you have a good week and look forward to the final races of the season together. Team China.”

It’s unlikely Val will have bat an eye over the silly babble…

— It is unclear if Ronda Rousey is done with WWE for the foreseeable future as yesterday was supposed to be her last date before taking a sabbatical. However, Rousey was not on the show after breaking her hand during the WrestleMania 35 main event.

— The WrestleMania 35 live gate came in at $16.9 million. WWE announced the attendance at 82,000+ which everyone knew they were going to since they had to break the previous MetLife record. That number is greatly exaggerated and the real figure won’t be known for a few months.

— AJ Styles has an injured hip and won’t be on tonight’s WWE Smackdown Live show.

It was announced earlier in the day that Mick Foley would be replacing the Undertaker at Inside The Ropes meet-and-greet event in the United Kingdom, where Foley will participate in the “Tales From Hell” Q&A session. In an effort to promote his appearance, Foley has released a statement on his Facebook page, and promises to give the passionate UK fans some great tales about the Deadman.

RISE OF THE TAKER, TALES FROM HELL

Hey, sometimes things happen, and you simply have to do the best with the cards you’re dealt. That’s exactly what Kenny McIntosh did when he learned that his #InsideTheRopes #RiseOfTheTakertour of #Manchester #London and #Glasgow was in danger of collapsing. Sometimes things happen, and no one’s at fault. I believe WWE was just doing what they felt was best to keep the mystique and aura surrounding the single greatest character in company history alive and well. It certainly wasn’t Undertaker’s fault either; in fact, he flew to Connecticut to convince WWE to let him do the tour in some way, shape or form. But when the contractual dust settled, Kenny found himself without the spoken word part of the biggest spoken word tour he’d ever put together – maybe the most highly anticipated spoken word tour the wrestling world has known.

So on March 1st, with his back up against the wall, Kenny reached out to me.

“Hey Mick. Kenny here from ITR. Keen to have a chat with you about an idea ive got that i think could be interesting. Please hit me up. Thanks”

I had come close to doing a few events with “Inside the Ropes” in 2018, but the negotiations had been done through
an intermediary, and in the end, the timing just didn’t work out. So I had never actually spoken to, or been directly in contact with Kenny before our phone call. He was extremely honest, and to the point; he pitched the idea of a show, moderated by him, with me talking about The Undertaker – our biggest matches, my take on some of his greatest moments, the impact of his amazing career onWWE and an entire generation of fans. There was no other backup plan – it was pretty much this show he was asking me about, or no show at all. While it may have taken six weeks to officially announce, the agreement between me and Kenny took about ten minutes to reach.

I’m thrilled to be part of the show. I will be getting paid, but for me #RiseOfTheTakerTalesFromHell isn’t really about the money. It’s a chance to keep hundreds of die-hard UK fans from missing out on a rare chance to meet The Undertaker (the meet and greets with Taker are very much alive). It’s a chance to talk about some of my favorite moments (of course, we’ll talk about #HIAC but UT and I had so many great moments together) with one of my favorite opponents. But probably more than anything, it’s a chance for me to help out Taker – a man who helped me so much in my career. We may be best known for one infamous evening in 1998, but had it not been for Taker putting me on the WWE map in 1996, so many of the good things that came my way would simply not have been possible. No #WWEHOF . No #RockAndSock , no WWE titles, no Al Snow #BestFriends reunion tours.Certainly, I would not be living in a world where I can walk around at age 53 wearing sweatpants and a fanny pack.

I’ll see you in a couple weeks – and I will be doing my very best to send you home with a smile on your face.
