A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Kerala for sexually assaulting more than 50 women he befriended on social media. The man revealed that he blackmailed the women with their morphed obscene photos.

Pradeesh Kumar from Areeparambu near Ettumanoor was arrested after a woman filed a police complaint.

He told police that he targeted women on various social media platforms and took their phone numbers. After establishing contact, mostly homemakers, and understanding their family issues, he used to create fake profiles posing as a female and got in touch with the husbands of his potential targets.

The accused used to take screenshots of the chats their husbands had with the fake accounts and forwarded it to their wives to convince them about their spouse’s “illicit relationships,” reported PTI.

Red Bull plans on sampling its canopy cockpit protection for the very first time in Friday’s free practice for the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi.

Called ‘Aeroscreen’, the system features a windscreen supported by two props, which makes it quite different from the Halo concept debuted by Ferrari in pre-season testing and that has a central pillar and no windscreen.

Daniel Ricciardo recently revealed that he had sat in a mockup design at the Red Bull factory, describing visibility as “fine”. It is reported that Friday’s test will include an installation lap to check whether this is still the case when the car is in motion.

The FIA previously said it was on schedule to have the Halo introduced next year regardless of whether a better system appears by then, but Red Bull is clearly pushing on with its in-house concept.

F1’s governing body has been looking to enhance driver head protection for several years, with the deaths of Jules Bianchi and Justin Wilson making the matter all the more urgent.

Q3 in Canada marks ‘an amazing job’ – Alonso

November 28, 2019 | News | No Comments

McLaren has done “an amazing job” over the past 12 months to be able to reach Q3 at the Canadian Grand Prix, according to Fernando Alonso.

A Honda-powered McLaren only reached the final part of qualifying for the first time at this year’s Spanish Grand Prix, with Alonso following that result up with another appearance in Q3 in Monaco. Despite the emphasis put on the power unit in Canada, Alonso again made it through to the final session on Saturday and was full of praise for the team’s improvement.

“Definitely, very happy, we did an amazing job with the car in 12 months and we are in a position now that is better than we expected,” Alonso said. “I think we have to say thanks to everyone in the team.

“Today in Q2 we were ahead of one Force India in Canada which is something which was difficult to imagine a couple of months ago. We were four-tenths behind Ferrari so that is something that pushes everyone in the factory and boost everyone in terms of motivation. Hopefully we keep this development.”

While Alonso is wary of setting expectations too high for Sunday’s race, he does believe McLaren will be able to challenge the likes of Williams and Force India on many occasions this season.

“It depends on the circuit layout. Here we are a little bit more concerned about our pace in the race, our fuel saving for tomorrow so let’s say we will have better opportunities than tomorrow. But who knows? There is some forecast for some rain for tomorrow so maybe that will help our package and our level of pace.

“We are ready for any opportunity and to fight. We are here for any opportunity. There is nothing to lose, we are not fighting for any world championships so it is maximum attack again.”

Button ecstatic over ‘amazing’ P3 grid position

November 28, 2019 | News | No Comments

Jenson Button was dealt a lucky hand in qualifying this afternoon, but made the most of a Q3 session he initially didn’t even expect to be a part of.

At the end of the day however, the Brit put his McLaren in the top 5 thanks to some inspired riving in the tricky wet-to-dry conditions.

“I love those conditions, can we have those every race?,” exclaimed Button.

” It’s mega, it was an enjoyable session. I saved everything for the last lap, I took a lot of risk and luckily there was no yellow flags. It worked out, so I’ll take it when I can.”

Yet, he only scraped through to Q3 with a 0.006 edge over Haas’ Esteban Gutierrez after almost ending in the gravel trap.

“I thought it was all over, to be fair, in Q2. I locked up into Turn 3, and it was spitting in Turn 1 and Turn 2, but the rain certainly affected me into Turn 3. I ran wide and thought ‘oh no’.

“We just stayed in, and in Q3 we were quick on the wets and not bad on the dries either. Great to be starting from third, it’s a good position. I’m gonna enjoy this moment.”

“Amazing to start P3 tomorrow, it’s a bit of luck – I’ll take it, I don’t feel like we’ve had much this year. I’m chuffed to bits, actually.”

Button  was at loss to really explain why he performed so remarkably, achieving his best qualifying results since the partnership between McLaren and Honda was renewed in 2014, but put it down to conditions and his natural ability perfectly lining up.

“There are conditions where I can’t get the best out of the car, and because of the driving style I have there are conditions where I can. Corner by corner, I feel the grip I have into the corner, rather than the memory from the last lap.”

While Button remains realistic about his chances of racing at the front tomorrow, he promises to race with his all his soul and give it his best.

“It’s going to be  a tough day as nobody really understands what the tyres are going to give us. Brits are first and third on the grid, I’m not sure we can hold it but we’ll give it ago.”
