Backstage News On The Roman Reigns/John Cena Segment From Raw

On Monday’s Raw, John Cena and Roman Reigns had another pretty noteworthy segment together, but this time, you could argue that Reigns got the better of Cena on the mic.

Much like with last week’s segment, Reigns and Cena touched on a lot of real-life topics that aren’t normally discussed in WWE storylines. By this point, we know the two aren’t “shooting” on each other — or maybe they are, but either way, these segments are designed to come off as a “shoot.”

As previously noted, Cena got the better of Reigns last week, and on Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about how WWE wanted to make sure that Reigns got the “last laugh” this week.

“Roman Reigns was so much better this week,” Meltzer said. “You could see on this one that [Reigns] was going right on the script, and John Cena was going right on the script, and they knew what happened last week, and they knew that John Cena got the better of him, and it was very clear that this was designed for Roman Reigns to get the better of John Cena and get the last laugh.”
