Dani Alves announces PSG departure

July 23, 2024 | News | No Comments

Via an Instagram post, Brazilian 36-year-old right-sided defender Dani Alves announced his departure from PSG this summer.

Alves spent two seasons with Les Parisiens, having arrived in the same summer as Neymar and after rejecting proposals from Juventus and Manchester City to move to the capital club’s project.

Alves had received an extension offer from Les Parisiens under Antero Henrique, but wanted guarantees about what sort of signings were going to be made by the Paris club. It appears as if he did not receive those assurances.

“A new chapter in my life begins today, a victorious cycle, one of the richest in terms of experiences. I thank the PSG family for the opportunity that we had to write a new page in the club’s history.”

Lille make improved bid for Yusuf Yazici

July 18, 2024 | News | No Comments

RMC report that Lille have made a second offer for Trabzonspor attacking midfielder Yusuf Yazici, which comes closer to meeting the Turkish side’s €20m plus bonuses demand.

LOSC’s first offer was €17m excluding bonuses, and this improved bid made over the weekend is not quite the exact amount asked for by Trabzonspor, but Les Dogues are hopeful that the offer will be accepted.

Either way, sources at Lille indicate that they are confident that a deal will be close imminently for the 22-year-old.

Official | Thiago Motta steps away from PSG

July 17, 2024 | News | No Comments

Earlier this evening, PSG announced the departure of U19s coach Thiago Motta.

The news does not come as a surprise and has been in the offing for several weeks – the two parties reached a mutual termination agreement to allow Motta to leave, despite having another 12 months remaining on his contract.

The official communiqué speaks of a mutual decision between the two parties, allowing “Thiago Motta to continue his apprenticeship in the world of management at the Italian Federal Technical Centre of Coverciano.”

PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi had the following to say:

“I want to warmly say goodbye to Thiago Motta, who has been a major player for us for a decade. With his talent, personality and sense of ambition, Thiago belongs to a group of people who have enabled this club to take on a new dimension. In 7.5 years, Thiago brought his professionalism, his enormous experience and his footballing expertise. At the end of his career, Thiago wanted to transmit his passion for football to others, notably those younger than him. We are very happy to have given him his first steps in the manager role at the heart of PSG, which will remain his home.”

Agent Alessandro Canovi added on social media this evening that between PSG and Thiago Motta, it is never “goodbye, more until next time.”

Wolves have informed AS Monaco that they would like to make a loan with option to buy offer for 18-year-old central defender Benoît Badiashile, according to L’Équipe.

The size of that option is not currently known, whilst Manchester United have also positioned themselves for a player that they have been scouting for several years.

In recent days however, it is Spanish side Valencia who have made an formal enquiry without yet making an opening bid.

ASM boss Leonardo Jardim does not hide from that fact that he cannot offer the player considerable game time next season and the club’s internal valuation of the French teen is understood to be at around the €35m mark.

Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Rennes President Olivier Létang confirmed that he had received a proposal for Senegalese international winger Ismaila Sarr from Watford, but that the Hornets have not since returned for the player.

“We have not had a new offer since the last time. The English club did not come back to us. I am not going to give you the size of the bid. Today, we are happy if he stays for another year. The English market closes in 17 days. The likelihood that he stays with us is very big… Yes it is Watford (who made the offer). Other clubs made enquiries, without putting in a firm bid. Today, we are protecting the interests of the club. We have spoken about it again with Julien (Stéphan). If Ismaila stays for another year with us, we would be happy. If a club comes in and makes an offer, we will discuss it.”

La Voix du Nord reported that the fee is €80m excluding add-ons, with another €10m in bonuses that could potentially be reached.
