Chris Jericho Takes Credit for WWE NXT Coming to USA, William Regal Responds
July 22, 2021 | News | No Comments
Chris Jericho has taken a second out of his busy schedule of trying to take credit for all of AEW’s successes, in order to take credit for the biggest announcement in WWE NXT history.
As noted, the NXT brand will be moving to a new two-hour format, live every Wednesday night on the USA Network at 8PM ET. The show will run head-to-head against All Elite Wrestling on TNT.

Jericho tweeted out the hashtags “YoureWelcome” and “IndustryChanger” on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after WWE made their announcement. NXT General Manager William Regal, a legend of the business and someone very familiar with Y2J both in and out of the ring, was quick to respond in defense of his brand.
“Yes, thank Chris,” Regal tweeted, presumably with some sarcasm. “From us both being on NXT in 2010 until today, being a mentor, announcer and GM, NXT has given huge opportunities for many talent who would never of got a chance before, to be real game changers. And it’s all down to you. Thank you so much”.
To be fair, Jericho was actually on NXT in 2010, back when the brand was a critically panned reality series. He was the Pro of then-Rookie Wade Barrett, who would of course go on to win the entire competition before leading the Nexus to WWE television.
Oh by the way…@WWENXT on @USA_Network? #YoureWelcome #IndustryChanger
