In a move that would give the boost to India’s attempt to designate Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar as “global terrorist”, France will move a proposal in the United Nations in a “couple of days” to ban JEM chief Masood Azhar who claimed responsibility for Pulwama attack in which over 40 CRPF soldiers died.

This is for the second time, France will be a part of such proposal at the UN as earlier the US supported by UK and France, had moved a proposal at the UN’s Sanctions Committee 1267 in 2017 to ban Masood Azhar, but the move was blocked by China and this time too, all eyes are on China as Russia, another member of P-5 supports Indian position to ban Masood Azhar.
