L’Équipe report today that Lens midfielder Cheick Doucouré has agreed terms with Crystal Palace over his future salary should a move to the Premier League materialise this summer.
The two clubs are far from reaching an agreement over the 22-year-old Mali international though, with Doucouré one of the key men of Franck Haise’s team and under contract until the end of the 2023/24 season, as is the case with Séko Fofana.
Doucouré is unlikely to leave his formative club for lower that the Sang et Or’s asking price of €25m. The 7th-place finishers are not in any immediate financial need either, having funded their upcoming transfer window in advance with a loan taken out last summer.

Alongside his midfield partner Fofana, Doucouré has been one of the standout players in the Lens team since their return from Ligue 2 two seasons ago. This year, he has made 34 Ligue 1 appearances, in what was his fourth full season with the senior squad.
