Home / Marseille set to hijack Manchester City’s Isaak Touré move

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting a turn in events in the Isaak Touré (19) transfer saga. The Le Havre centre-back now looks set to stay in France with a move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.

Earlier in the week, it was reported by L’Équipe that Touré was all set to join Manchester City on a “long-term contract” before potentially being loaned out for ESTAC Troyes for the upcoming season.

Marseille, however, have maintained a strong interest in the France U19 defender, and have reportedly been locked in conversations with the player’s representatives since early May.

According to DI Marzio, Marseille have been “pursuing contacts with his entourage for days,” and the negotiations are now in an “advanced state.” Di Marzio does add that the deal is not yet done, although it is moving closer and the fee is thought to be around  €7m.

Touré enjoyed a break-through season with Le Havre last season, where he made 17 Ligue 2 appearances.
