Speaking after his side’s late win against Rennes last night, PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino called on all those associated with the club to present a united front ahead of the Champions League last 16 tie with Real Madrid next week. PSG ultras heavily criticised the club this week via a lengthy statement before displaying various disparaging banners during the Rennes game. The Argentine coach said:

“I want to make an appeal. The club needs unity. Fans are the most important part of a club, we need this unity. They have the right to express themselves but we need to be united. We are in an important period, it’s time to be united, to think together and to fight together to achieve our goals. When the matches are over, at the end of the season, it will be time to take stock so that the club continues to be one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
