At this point it is truly no secret that WWE and Rey Mysterio have been having talks about a possible return for the masked superstar in the future. Those negotiations are continuing to develop with each passing day, and it was recently reported that Mysterio will make a guest appearance during the Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27th. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that Mysterio has still not signed a deal with WWE as of yet. His Greatest Royal Rumble appearance is yet another one-off for right now, and he is also still committed to working for AroLucha and New Japan Pro Wrestling later this year, but Mysterio is still expected to return to WWE in just a matter of time.
A few fans took issue with the fact that WWE excluded the Kickoff matches from last year’s WrestleMania DVD. The company has heard the fans loud and clear as Wrestling DVD Network just revealed that the all three of the Kickoff matches from this year’s show will be included on the upcoming DVD release for WrestleMania 34. Additionally, the this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony has been cut from the DVD due to the long running time of the show. WWE will instead be adding the episode of Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania to the DVD this year, while the Blu-Ray version will also footage from the following Smackdown. No release date for the DVD has been provided just yet.
Monday Night Raw featured a ton of new arrivals and surprises for fans earlier this week, but perhaps one of the most interesting aspect of the show was when Kurt Angle acknowledged TNA Wrestling during the show, something that WWE notoriously rarely does. The trend seems to be continuing as the latest edition of WWE Now features a tweet from former TNA President Dixie Carter wherein she congratulates the company for recruiting Bobby Lashley back onto their roster. Carter was also featured in the WWE 24 documentary based on Kurt Angle’s WWE return from last year. The video which features the tweet from the former TNA Wrestling President and Chairman can be watched down below:
