Samoa Joe has been suspended for 30 days for a violation of WWE’s wellness policy.
WWE announced the news via a statement today: “WWE has suspended Nuufolau Seanoa (Samoa Joe) for 30 days effective Monday, February 24, for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.”
Joe is currently out of action after suffering a concussion during a commercial shoot for WWE earlier this month. Prior to that, Joe had returned to the ring after also suffering a concussion while teaming with Kevin Owens against Seth Rollins & Murphy on the January 27 episode of Raw.
Joe is the fourth wrestler to be suspended by WWE for a wellness policy violation in recent months. Robert Roode and Primo Colon were given 30-day suspensions in December, while United States Champion Andrade was suspended for 30 days on January 28.
Andrade will return to the ring as part of the Tuwaiq Trophy gauntlet match at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia this Thursday. The match will also feature AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Erick Rowan, R-Truth, and Rey Mysterio.
