See the first pictures of Hailey Bieber’s unconventional Virgil Abloh-designed wedding dress

Hailey and Justin Bieber said “I do” for the second time in a star-studded wedding in South Carolina on Monday September 30—having already married in a civil ceremony in New York’s City Hall in 2018. And, while the couple and their friends shared a number of details about the celebration, including the couple’s bridal jewellery (Tiffany & Co.), what the guests wore (Kylie Jenner in J’Aton Couture) and some of the celebratory details (a pre-wedding screening of )—what the bride wore has, until now, been a mystery.

This morning, Hailey Bieber has taken to Instagram to reveal her wedding dress, sharing a series of images, showing off the spectacular dress from every angle.
In the first black and white image, the newlyweds are pictured in an intimate moment and the bride’s off-the-shoulder lace mermaid-style gown with a dreamy wedding veil is on full display. In an unconventional twist, Hailey’s veil has “Till Death Do Us Part” embroidered across it in large capital letters. Hailey captioned this first dress reveal post: “last Monday was the most special day of my life:)”.
In the next Instagram post, the bride is pictured standing on a set of steps leading to a doorway, providing a close-up view of her gown. Notably, although the silhouette is a traditional mermaid style, the sleeves have a non-traditional detail, not ending at her wrist, rather continuing in a glove-like style. In this post Hailey reveals the dress is designed by Virgil Abloh for Off-White, which explains the unconventional text on the veil—text being a signature feature of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White designs.
“@virgilabloh thank you for making my vision come to life and creating my dream dress. You and your @off____white team are incredible and I’m forever grateful I got to wear your beautiful creation,” Hailey captioned the picture. It makes sense that Hailey—who is well-versed in the world of fashion in her career as a model—would select one of the fashion industry’s most in-demand designers to create her wedding dress. It also rings true that she would opt for a designer not traditionally associated with bridal. Hailey and Justin as a couple are at the cutting edge of pop culture—Justin through his music and Hailey through fashion, so their wedding was always going to be a blend of old traditions and new ones.
In the third and final post, Hailey and Justin are sharing a sweet moment against a curtain-like backdrop and the back of Hailey’s dress is revealed as a very low V-shape. In the image, which Hailey captioned with the date of their wedding—“9.30.19”—Hailey has tagged Celine as the brand behind Justin’s suit, revealing the designer behind the groom’s wedding ensemble.
