WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon recently spoke to Yahoo! Sports about a number of topics including WWE’s updated domestic abuse policy, and the reports that Vince McMahon does not want a Total Divas cast members to hold the Divas Championship.
Several weeks ago, Total Divas cast member Cameron appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast and said:
“The whole thing we have been fighting is being on the show [means] not being able to have a chance at the title.”
Stephanie McMahon denies what Cameron said, noting that there is no policy in place about Total Divas cast members not being able to compete for the Divas Championship.
“Absolutely not. I honestly don’t even know how that rumor got started.”
“There is no policy. I think it would be awesome to have one of the Total Divas as our champion. I think it would drive interest in the storyline. I would never say never.”
Stephanie also said this about WWE’s new domestic violence policy:
“We have a zero tolerance policy for domestic abuse. Upon arrest for such misconduct, our Superstars are immediately suspended and should there be a conviction, that Superstar or Diva would be terminated.”
