Why Undertaker Returned During Raw, Possible Dean Ambrose Update

The Raw after WrestleMania ever year is usually filled with memorable debuts and surprises, and last night’s edition of the show was no different. Perhaps the most shocking moment of the night came when The Undertaker arrived in the Barclays Center and laid out Elias with a Tombstone Piledriver. Although “The Deadman” was in town for all of the festivities that took place during the weekend of WrestleMania in the New York/New Jersey area, WrestleMania 35 on Sunday marked the first time that the legendary wrestler has not appeared on the show since WrestleMania 2000. It was certainly a pleasant surprise to see Undertaker again, but WWE may have had more in mind than simply surprising the fans last night.
As usual, Elias performed a concert during Raw last night only to be interrupted. However, The Undertaker was the man to disrupt the performance this time. He laid out “The Drifter” before making his way to the back. According to PWInsider, Undertaker’s return took place last night as a way to lay the groundwork for an upcoming match between “The Phenom” and Elias. Undertaker is currently set to return to the ring for a match when WWE comes back to Saudi Arabia in June. As of right now, the former world champion is set to face Elias in his first match with WWE since last fall’s Crown Jewel show. Expect to see Elias mention Undertaker much more on Raw in the weeks leading up to the summer event.
Dean Ambrose was written off of television during Raw last night when he was placed through a table by Bobby Lashley. He came back out after the show went off the air for one final Shield reunion. Fans and wrestlers alike have been begging for Ambrose to sign a new WWE contract, but the former WWE Champion has refused to give in. However, it is possible that “The Lunatic Fringe” may return to WWE television again in the near future after all. According to Slice Wrestling, Ambrose is taking a six-month break from the ring and will make a decision during that time as to whether or not he wants to work for WWE again. Given Ambrose’s popularity, it is also possible that he will listen to other offers that may come his way.
